I will sometimes get in front of the car that going 50 in the left and bring him down to 35 to see if he realizes what he/she is doing. Sometimes when I borrow my dads f-350 I roll right on thier bumper. I wish I had the james bond missile launcher on the front of my car with a license to kill.

I wave my hand, if that doesn't work I flash them, if that doesn't work I tailgate for a couple seconds, if that doesn't work I either honk or get next give them the F1 hand and then get right in front of them.

They still do that in Europe.

I hate those people that won't stay on the other lanes. I'm young and I know better. I usually just end up passing and then just staying in the slow lane since that seems to be the least used lane.

Who cares how much faster over the speed limit you are going, move over if someone is coming up on you faster than you are going.

And oh yes, I HATE trucks in the left lane. Such MORONS!

A lot of them have grass in their bumpers after I pass.

This is the Cardinal rule of driving on Autobahns in Germany. And probably the primary reason they have less bad freeway accidents than here in US (besides the fact that they KNOW how to drive and have cool cars! )

Correct. I leave people alone who do this. It is common courtesy and if you want to go slow, why do you want to hold up someone else, making them mad at you for doing so, rather than letting them go by an out of your life. I could never understand that.

Simply put, left lane passing has not caught on in America.

I just pass on the right if it's safe and go about my business.

What I hate even more is the duo: two dudes side by side doing 50 in a 65 in both lanes.

But I would never advocate tailgating, cutting off, flipping off or any other dangerous crap.

I have been guilty of sleeping at the light a few times though...too busy watching that fine ass cross the street lol

Though passing on the right is all the rage at stop lights -- dude pulls up on your right, in either the parking lane or the right turn only lane and tries to jump in front of you when the light turns green.

Don't often have it done to me in the 3 but when I am driving a rental, gets me POD.

Yes it is actually ignorant of others. It's jackasses like yourself that think it's ok to do whatever you want on the interstate regardless of everybody else that gives American drivers a bad name. And it also gives a reason for this thread's existence.

wow i was referring to myself as not being ignorant in response to another member's post...
i already said that i get upset with slower drivers in the fast lane...all i'm saying is that it's technically not their obligation to move...it's more of a courtesy if anything...
but i totally agree that they should move out of the way...

Actually that's not true, in most states it IS law to move over regardless of the speed limit.

But in ALL states, it's common courtesy, and one of the things that separates good drivers from crappy ones.

Relinquish your bimmer, you're giving us a bad name.

Or start driving better.

Some days I get pissed off, others I take it in stride. The problem is, that left lane hugging assholes unnecessarily provoke other drivers and make them do maneuvers they would normally not do. If they existed, I would love to see statistics on how many accidents are provoked by slow-driving left lane dickheads. I think the number would be surprising.

I am from Germany and driving is one thing 99.9% of Germans know how to do very well. I mean getting a drivers license over there is like graduating from high school for crying out loud. Over here, it took me half a day to get it. No wonder there are so many uneducated fuckheads on the road today.

Last time ffx county decided to turn on their lights, they decided to turn off their lights after about 10 minutes. Laws in VA are way too strict. Thats why half the bikers I know never stop if caught doing anything weird or going over 90 just run. The reckless driving fees, concequences are so great that its worth the risk of running.

I agree. I keep saying to myself that slow and/or ignorant drivers make otherwise decent drivers do potentially stupid things.

Just wondering, for everyone who keeps complaining about slow drivers, how fast are you going?

You realize there will always be someone complaining about "slow" drivers in the left lane unless you're going 200 mph.

...and then you'll be complaining about the speeding tickets.

depends. I was driving my Camry Hybrid today from Ottawa to Toronto passing a lot of cars and still beat official fuel economy numbers.

No body is complaining about slow drivers. I'm all for riding or driving your own ride/drive. If going slow makes you feel more comfortable then by all means do so. Just don't try to impose your idea of whats normal, fast, slow onto others by getting on their way. Hell, I get people that pull in front of me from the slow lane when there is no one in front of them for no reason. Maybe they are just careless, maybe they are just trying to slow me down. Either way it shows a certain level of carelessness that should be frowned upon as much as the aggressive driver.
