Why do 2008 models dominate the FS form?

?? Just curious...

39% of m3's are 2008's. Other than that it's an older car, more turnover.

Likely because they are the oldest model year thus their owners have owned them the longest thus increasing the likelihood of them wanting to sell.

Applies to E90 (US and Canada), not sure about the rest.

That 39% statistic is for E90 M3 only... also 37% in 2011 alone. 2009 and 2010 were low volume years then sedan production ceased by 2012.

the 2008 is the least wanted model because it has the least amount of updates, BUt its also at times the most wanted model for people who want the best deal. because the 2008 m3s are still very very good car.

Probably because they where the first to buy the e90 model.

Now that the new ones are out they are moving on to the next generation M3/ M4.

That's a good point. If the 08's are being sold by their original owners they are probably "early adopters" who want the next M3/4.
Other than that, I'd say it's just the fact that people who have 08's likely have had them longer. There are probably more 09's than 10's and 10's than 11's.
I haven't heard much about first year quality issues though, which is good, it's just a little older in terms of bells and whistles (Nav, tail lights, etc)

I knew I was going to find this somewhere in here!

Plus the 08 has the older nav, and lacks lci for sedans.

I think 08 is more popular because it's the most affordable. Not many people want to shell out $50k+ for a used euro. Even a decent 08 will run halfway past 30k but if taken good care of, should be worth the price of admission.

Absolutely. They're the best bang for the buck. Why drop another $10K-20K+ for the same car if the only difference is LCI + CIC? I care about neither and I'm happier having spent far less than those who opted for the newer model years. Nothing wrong with an '08 Reliability is the same across the board.

LOL at some of the posts ITT.

A couple of days ago I was looking around to see what were the asking prices of any remaining brand new 2013 model M3 coupes and it seems the dealers are already in "collectible" mode with low ball price starting @ $82.xK going to $125K for a Lime Rock edition.
