Paper plates... forever?

Bought my M3 (from dealership) on 6/8/14. No plates in the mail as of yet. Am I to be in a paper plate and window sticker for good or what? WTH?

My wife buys a Maserati and gets her plates in week #2 of ownership! I even ordered a personalized plate from DMV (California) probably a month after ownership but nada.. zip.

I guess it's not the biggest deal but I really would prefer not to have a sticker in my windshield. But then on the plus side are the obvious, red light cameras etc.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that it seems odd. It's definitely registered as I have the registration. Watch now my plates will come tomorrow or something.

Custom plates usually take 6-8 weeks.... a little more patience!

That's definitely annoying, been in your shoes. Depending on DMW, title company, etc. it can take a while, especially with custom plates.

Don't they have to have prisoners bang it out with a hammer first?

At least in California, all the license plates have been fabricated at Folsom State Prison for decades. It takes 8-10 weeks to get a personalized plate; my last two were right on the 8 week mark.

I thought this was going to be a thread about how you have to use paper plates now due to the cost of the BMW M3.

Off topic, sorry , carry on.
