Kics Project R26 OR Turner Motorsport Race Lug Nut

Kics Project R26 OR Turner Motorsport Race Lug Nuts

Just before I order I'd like to flush out any current or updated opinions on this.

Are the Kics lugs worth double the cost of the Turner lugs and which is actually a better nut?

I like the Kics because they also include a 'wheel lock' and mostly that they aren't gold.

The Turner nuts are solid and proven but they are gold and have no built-in undetermined theft deterrent.

These will be used with Turner 75mm studs on my track wheels and mostly for track events but will remain on the car full time.

If you're looking for short lugs that works as some sort of wheel lock in reasonable price for stud conversion:

The R26 looks pretty gold in some pictures, it has that chameleon effect on them. Personally, I went with the R40 because it originally matched the finish on my Neez wheels. But in terms of look, it's not that noticeable unless you're trying to find it.

The R26s don't work with all studs, so double check.
I use the Turner ones for track use and the Kics R40 for street use.

Did you get the standard or NeoCrome finish?

Why did you pick the R40 over the R26?

It's a simple thing and I don't mind paying for the Kics if they are better - I just want to get the best lug for my wheels.

Turner sells the Kics and in the description they say "Perfect for TMS lug stud conversions on street cars!" about the Kics and the Turner lugs are described as the ultimate racing lug.

Obviously they want to sell their product but I also haven't found too many people that use the Kics on the track.

What about the lug would work with one stud and not another brand?

when you are putting on lug nuts that are locking, you need to make sure that the "key" goes in deep enough past the 75mm or 90mm studs that you use in order to tighten the lug nut up fully. if they do, the lug nuts will have no issues with the studs.

I would very much stay away from the Muteki lug nuts. They are notorious for getting the socket engagement key rounded out if you take them on and off often.

I know their lugs are fogged.
but their key is the problem?

Why do you use different lugs for track/street?
What studs did you get?

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

No, the lugs get rounded which is pretty common. There's also some people who snap them. Google "muteki lug problem" will give you some examples. Just cause something is forged doesn't mean it's good.

I use the Turner studs, 75mm.
Turner lugs are cheap and easily to replace if you strip one, I have actually stripped two last season, my own fault probably. The KICS units are $$$$ and hard to come by, so I only use those on the street.

Already swapping wheels, so not a big deal to change lug nuts.

Jaypod actually recommended I do this, and he was def right.

I say go for the r40 if your willing to shell out the money, tuner lugs are just standard lugs. My friend has a set and they are durable and the locks are a plus too. Stay away from Muteki lugs, I had the neo ones on my Z4 before and the finish isnt durable and was hella heavy.

I just bought a set of Vorshlag studs and a set of Skunk2 lugs, total cost is less than the price for a set of Kics. The Neo Kics are pretty tho so all up to you

I have been using Turner 75mm and 90mm with Project KICS R40 lugnuts for 3 years now. I love the setup. Go with the R40s rather than the R26 to avoid any problems with torquing down the locking key.

Are the R40's as strong as the Turner nuts for track use?

Also who has the best price on the Kics R40's?
