BBS CH-R 9x19 ET 20 + 10.5x19 ET 25 -> Will These Fit?
Hi.
Sorry about yet another one of these will they fit posts, but... I am in the process of getting myself a nice set of BBS CH-R's for my E92 M3. After doing much reading I have come up with the following: Front: 9 x 19 ET 20 Rear: 10.5 x 19 ET 25 Will these sizes fit a non-lowered E92 M3 without the need for spacers? This ET thing is a pain in the ass for someone buying rims for the first time (ever!). Here are the 2 ebay items I am about to jump the gun on: http://www.ebay.de/itm/19-Zoll-Alufe...item3ce7060bcd and http://www.ebay.de/itm/19-Zoll-Alufe...item5b048114ef Any help is appreciated! Thanks! |

Yes they will fit nicely... 285 tires on the rear and you might get 265's on the front.

I have these. I would run 295 on the rears. I had 285 first and it was a little stretched.
Offset is made for the e92 m3. 255/35/19 front, 295/30/19 rears currently. |

Yes they will fit. If it were me I would get the 19x9.5 et35 version for the front. That would be a better fit for 265/30/19 or 275/30/19 tires. You may need a 5mm or 10mm spacer. I do however know of at least one person who ran the 9.5"et35 with 265/30 tires without spacers. You could then run 295/30/19 tires in the rear (or 285/30/19 for a more conservative fitment).
If you want easier fitment you could run 255/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rear tires which will be a little stretched on the 9.5/10.5 wheels. My recommendation is based on the fact that the OEM wheels have a 1" wheel stagger and 20mm tire stagger. I think it's best to stick with that for the best tire to wheel match and consistent handling. Increasing the stagger will result in more under-steer which I certainly wouldn't want.

I'm running TE37's RT that are 18x9.5 front w/265-35 and the car is dropped! And they do not rub. In your case?! with 19's they will, but only when turning the wheels. You can run 255 and it will be fine.

A 265/35/19 tire is 1" taller than a 265/35/18 tire. He will have rubbing issues if he installs a 265/35/19 tire. A 255/35/19 tire will work and would be a good match for the 9" wide wheel the OP was considering. A 295/30/19 tire in the rear will work but it will be a tight fit considering the wheel width and offset. Camber adjustment may be required depending on the tire brand. As I said earlier, I wouldn't recommend the 255/295 combo because it is a 40mm stagger which will add understeer. This is why I recommended the 9.5" version of the front wheel to allow proper fitment of a 265/30/19 or 275/30/19 which is a better match for the 295/30/19 rear tire. Below are some pictures for illustration of the fitment of a 295 tire on a 10.5 et25 wheel, on a lowered car: 295/35/18 tire on an 18 x 10.5 et25 wheel This is a BFG Rival tire that runs extremely wide and square. It is the most difficult tire to fit. This is a worst case fitment in this tire / wheel size. I am not experiencing any rubbing even in track use. The tire did hit the fender liner slightly but that has gone away. I have the corner of the car compressed in these pictures (to test clearance). This fitment couldn't be any tighter. image by slicerM, on Flickr Rival by slicerM, on Flickr Rival by slicerM, on Flickr Rival by slicerM, on Flickr 295/30/19 tire on an 19 x 10.5 et25 wheel This is a Yokohama AD08 tire which also runs very square and wide. This is the second most difficult tire to fit. I did not have any rubbing with this combo. It is however very tight fitment. FYI - those are 275/30/19 tires in the front on 19x9.5 et17 wheels. Slicer - do ad08 run wider than pss? I heard the pss sidewall bulges quite a bit and can be difficult to fit?
I have 19x10.5" et 22 wheels with 275 pss but next tire change I'm contemplating milling them to et 25 or greater so I can run 295s. |

AD08's run more square at the tread / shoulder. PSS have a more rounded shoulder but they have a big rim protector (at the bead of the tire) that can sometimes be problematic for fitment. Overall I have found PSS to be easier to fit than AD08's. I should note that there are different version of the PSS - it seems like the Porsche version runs a little wider. I can't be sure on this but that is my observation...

I run these exact wheels no problem in the exact sizes and offset. I'm also lowered on Swift springs. I run 255/35/19 Front and 275/35/19 Rear Michelin PSS for equal stagger as OEM. I run a bit more aggressive camber that you can on OEM suspension but I have never rubbed in any situation whatsoever. If anything I would say this is somewhat of a mild setup that fits great and looks very nice.

Good to hear guys!
Looks like I am all set. The CH-R's have been sitting unused, boxed and never installed in storage. As well as 4 PSS tires Waiting another 2-3 weeks before I get them mounted as we have seen -2 to 0 at night here the last few days. |
