You know you own an e9x M3 when...

You've got a 1/4 tank of gas and an 7 mile commute.... and you're not sure if you'll make it back home.

You try to hang the tail out just going around a city block at 15 mph.

I don't know if those comments above represent anything specific about owning the M3. I can go 60 miles on a 1/4 tank and I don't see the point of hanging the tail out at 15mph. Oh, and I have an M3 too.

When hitting the 8600 redline on the way to the grocery seems completely normal to you.

- when you spend more time with the gas station attendant than with your wife
- when your car drinks more oil than you drink water
- when you always hit 8400 rpm at least once every single day
- when you like to turn the traction control off and hang the tail out when cornering on a rainy day
- when you go to an empty parking lot at 1 am just to do donuts and burn rubber
- when you look for the most remote and isolated parking spots far far away from other parked cars, and then have to walk a kilometer to your destination
- when you heel and toe every time you brake for a corner (doesn't apply to posers who bought the automatic M3 )

lol
i always found this little funny, because our M3 low gas warning comes up way too soon compared to other cars
usually my non-M3 cars give me low gas warning at 15~20miles left on tank (according to the car) or almost at the bottom of the gas gauge, but M3 usually turns that sign on when there's still 1/4 left on the tank

My top 3:
- When you actually volunteer to do errands for your wife
- When you keep looking at it every time you walk away
- When every time you try to open your window, you end up openning the rear's (E90).

The timing of the low gas warning is actually perfect on the race track. When it chimes, you know you only have one or two laps left before you need to pit in .

When you get in your wife's X5 50 and you (comming from DCT)
- you always have trouble getting into R and back to D.
- constantly trying to shift using non-existant paddles.
- when you fill up the X5 and you have to put 21 gallons and not 16
