Many of the posts on a camera are worth consideration. However, given that police view felony property damage in the amount of 5 figures or beyond (such as this) about equivalent to tagging or egging, no progress would be made with a picture or video unless you also happened to catch a license plate. The officer who showed up to talk to me was not even going to file a police report unless my insurance needed it (which they did).

I know what You mean, but maybe a camera would reveal someone that WE would recognize.
I also think that a camera would be a good defense in an accident were someone else was at fault, but blamed you.

I just sold my e92 m3 and I have to say, for this very reason I feel like a lot of stress has been taken off my shoulders. I always used to worry about driving it places, where to park, etc. Now I only have my truck and it feels so worry free! I have been contemplating buying an r8 but fear that I will be even more worried about that car. Also with the fact that class warfare in this country is on the rise, thanks to our good ole commander in chief, I foresee much more of this type of stuff happening going forward. The overall attitude I feel is that its no longer looked up upon to be a hard working successful person, the hardworking successful people are starting to be looked at like crooks, greedy son-a-... etc. Its the entitled age and its truly a sad day (and age) for America. Sorry for the rant lol

No need to be sorry, I agree with you 100000%.
I too believe that working your butt off to achieve a rewarding future is now frowned upon by the entitled masses. Its kinda funny when many times at work or at the gym I hear the "damn you are a doctor you must be rich" comment stated in a sarcastic/rude way. A few years ago when I moved to a different gym I would always keep low profile and always do my best to avoid conversations regarding occupation/ salary, but once in a while Id have to fess up to my career and immediately I could see the persons attitude change (in a bad way) as If I thought I was too good. People intentionally always fail to see the years of ones youth that many of us gave up in order to achieve our goals. It doesnt matter what you do for a living, hard work is always the common denominator for successful individuals. Granted there are those less fortunate that began life in a hole that they could never leave, but for many others, they attempt to justify the fact they basically did not want to sacrifice in the present thinking that the future would never realize itself and they would eventually have to accept responsibility for their choices as a youth.
Oh yes our commander in chief... oh boy!! I wont get into that. But lets just say that politicians will always say and promise what they can to garnish the most votes.

Just my 2 cents

That is such bullshit. So sorry to see that. I think the CF roof pics made me cringe the worst.

I was going to post a thread this week, but after seeing this, I figure my situation did not warrant a new thread. Either way I feel your pain. Check out what happened to my car while I was in Starbucks Friday morning...

Totally sucks, but at least the lady who hit me came in and admitted it. She could have easily driven away.

+1, I sold my M car just to get another one (08 to 13). I ordered it this time, so I've been driving a rental POS for a while now.

It's really a nice change to not worry or care. I don't wash it, it doesn't need any gas (barely), and it's automatic. It really makes me want to have a beater car in addition to the M now.

However, my drives to and from work are definitely less entertaining and I do miss having a smile on my face when driving to and from work or anywhere from that matter.

What's wrong with people?

When I see an expensive exotic car of course I get envious but I set my goals in life to work harder and earn more money to purchase one.

Latest word is that the entire CF roof will need to be replaced...Ugh. It can be repaired but not to a factory quality. It is likely that you would see the resin patch. Going to get even pricier (for my insurance...).

Sorry to see you are still struggling with this. Now with the roof having to be replaced as well will delay the end date even more (alignment tools required from Germany for roof replacement). Do you have an end date when repairs will be completed?

My daughters car got keyed in Toronto (parked in the street) also all around every panel including hood and trunk (my original 1987 535is it is her pride and joy). Her car required a complete paint job.

Hope all gets resolved soon with your car ... meanwhile Happy New Year!
