How many miles on the car? $2900 for brakes and plugs seems "excessive".

That seems fast for brake rotors/pads, etc. Maybe $600 for the extended warranty isn't such a bad idea

I went with an aftermarket warranty through my friends shop, 3000$ for 4 years of warranty bumper to bumper on all non wear and tare parts (I.e. brakes, clutch). Basically seems like you need to be most concerned with the Icv going bad in this car which is about $800 per bank and you have 2 in the car. The warranty has no deductible too

i take it your CBS screen says your brakes are due for service? I just measured my rotors with 105K miles and I can go awhile. Spark plugs at an indie shop shouldn't cost much more than 3 hrs labor. $3000 for brakes, plugs and oil change seems like alot.

they said 11000 miles left in front and rear. does that mean pads only? i would think that the 1100 per axle meant rotors too? in any event i am out of warranty as of today.

Unless you want to stick with the dealer for peace of mind, I'd find an independant shop to do the maintenance for you. More than likely it will work out much cheaper.
The warranty on the other hand is a good idea, whether you get it from dealer or aftermarket. I'm always reminded of how valuable it is when I hear of the $20,000 engine replacements...

You could get the spark plugs done at an indy for around $300 give or take depending on if you supply the plugs.
Unless you track the car or drive very hard, the rear rotors should last awhile. For around $2K, you're better off getting something like a stoptech BBK up front. |

get the extended warranty. It just paid for itself on my first visit. I went with Fidelity. So far so good.
Fuel line sensor was bad. 3600.00. if i did not have it. Warranty covered it all. |

No way. I got quoted $5000 for that after an hour of haggling with the dealer. They were originally asking $5k+ for that warranty.
