Driving slow in luxury sports cars

It seems like every time I see a decent sports car the driver is driving slow and usually in the right hand lane. M3 driver's appear to be the exception. Just a thought I wanted to share. I'm curious if others notice this phenomenon.

Where i live in Trinidad the majority of people driving luxury cars are middle age. Very few young people drive luxury cars. Some push it a bit while others are too nervous driving there parents cars. The one E90 M3 I know down here belongs to the BMW general manager who is known to push it when no ones looking. Very rare i would get a brief "kick down" on the highway from someone who just wants to toy around for just a few seconds other than my dad or Kiemyster.

I see that some times. Another good example are the ones without any tint on the window. Mercedes owner tend to do this more than others.

I am always on the fast lanes with dark tint. I drive the car for me not for others to see me in it.

I'm usually like that in the city. And the faster the car, the more stares I get . I usually don't get many on the M3.

Yep. That's where I really enjoy my sports cars . And perfect driving record here, so I obviously do it safely and carefully.

??

I don't use tint. Light tint is Ok. Dark tint looks classless in my opinion. Hmmmm maybe I'm just reaching the age of maturity

All windows on my cars are tinted at a 30% level. I drive fast only when there are no sounds coming from my car radar and traffic is light. Unlike the autobahn or long roads, a lot of drivers in the fastest lane do not change lanes when I'm approaching so out of safety reasons I try not to go over 70 mph. But the people I most often see driving slowly in sports cars a middle aged men in convertible SL550 Mercs.

I'm 26. I definitely drive a lot slower in the M3 than the STI. Speed limit, right lane. I do get on the gas every now and then.

I'm usually chilling in the slow lane. I rarely beat on the car, and it's been redlined only a few times haha. Yeah yeah, I know. Hardly have a chance to since it's my daily driver to work. I'm on the freeway in less than 30 seconds for 4 miles. Car isn't even warmed up so I can't be hard on it. Then I'm back on local roads to work.

I think most of the guys the OP is referring to share the same viewpoint:

Life becomes more precious as you age. You learn to avoid taking unnecessary risks - as its just not worth it.

That said, I don't think you will find many guys that will only drive in the right lane going 50. They're probably more cautious about where they open it up and with whom (no wife/gf/kids in the car, etc).
