Are you guys listing out the door prices or pre tax/fees prices? Some of the prices seem really low.

Anyways I'm looking at a 2010 18k miles alpine white MT, prem pkg, tech pkg, cold weather pkg, premium sound with 19" wheels. Dealer is asking 52k. I'm going to offer 52k out the door (~47500 pre tax/fees). What do you guys think? Too high or too low?

I listed OTD. But we don't have any sales tax here in Oregon. I paid 48k for the exact same car, only difference being color and DCT instead of MT. Miles, options, and year are the same.

Exactly, once you pay for it, just be happy with your car.

I paid $39k for mine, and it had 59k miles. Did I probably over pay? Maybe. But I don't think about that when I'm revving to 8400 RPM and noticing just how beautiful my color combo is!

I'm in the middle of negotiations but can't seem to make the dealer budge much on price.

2009 with original MSRP of 68350 (+dest and guzzler tax which aren't my concern).
Previous owner was a doctor that didn't drive the car much. It now has 16k miles.

Best pricing I could get $50500 CPO or $49000 without CPO. To me that seems $3000 too high but honestly I think the dealer will find a buyer for that price without an issue. Seems like all the CPO M3s sell on the high end around here.

What do you think of that price? I always seem to hear that M3's lose about $10k per year for the first three years but this doesn't line up.

That is def. some low miles for a 2009 . Is this a Coupe (e92)? If so I probably would not pay more then 46-47k CPO (retail should be right around 47k fully loaded) and that is if it is DCT and with all options available.

Back in Feb. I had bought a one owner 09 Space Gray E92 (24k miles) Fully loaded with every option available in 09 for 45,500 + tax.title,ect.. and it was a late model 09 so it still had 18months or so of warranty and maintenance left

Thanks for the reply....
This is an E92 DCT, with cold weather, premium package, tech package, 19", and Novillo leather.

The car is pretty much in perfect condition and is still under warranty until Sept 2013.

This is the third M3 that this dealer has gotten in the last year and all sold for more than what fair market value should be. The last one I was able to locate and contact the previous owner. They soaked him on trade and ended up making $9000 on the car selling it in only 10 days.

I guess it all depends on the demand and the area you are in. I would expand the search a bit into Chicago and Minneapolis. If you can save a few grand by traveling a few hundred miles, Hey why not.

I'm letting them put the car on Demo for 3 months or 3000 miles which ever comes 1st. I'm currently deployed and by the time I get back the car will be ready for me! I have a buddy that bought one that was a Demo got the discount and the car had under 10 miles on it so not a bad deal!!!

That is relatively high but depending on the supply and demand in your area it maybe reasonable.

I just bought a 2010 18k miles coupe MT with all options except rear sensor and cold weather for 47k (51.5k out the door). Mint condition inside and out, the interior is actually so mint if I only saw the inside of the car i'd believe it if you told me the car was new.

The original sticker on the car was 69k

^ That sounds like an exception deal. Congrats! Now please find me one like that.

I almost feel like I would be better off buying a newer one with 3 years of the original warranty left rather than paying extra for CPO.

Do you guys include destination and gas pig tax when you mention original price?

2011 E92 coupe with ~10k miles
SSII / black non-extended leather
M-DCT
ZCP
Premium Package
Technology Package
Enhanced Premium Sound
Sunroof
Some other options (PDC, alarm, heated seats, etc)
~$55k

Guessing a little high, but still a few K below the original asking price... Decent? Truecar/KBB estimated around 60k retail.

Is there a preferred site for searching for used M3s?

I'm using the common ones but can't seem to find all that many.

What I'd really like to is find one that's a year old where someone else took the $13k first year hit and scoop that up. I'm always finding lease take overs but none are that great of a deal.

I know the car you are talking about. I drove it the Wednesday before thanksgiving. The sales person said someone else from Stevens Point area was coming to look at it. I assume that was you. It is a great car and in perfect condition.

I am signing the paperwork for it tomorrow. Paid about the same as you mentioned. The M3s around here go quick because there just aren't as many for sale as in Chicago. When 1 hits the lot in good condition they are gone within 10 days.

I was considering a S5, CTS-V, or the M3. On paper the M3 wasn't all that impressive to me but as soon as I drove it i knew that this was the one. There are faster cars, cheaper cars, and more economical cars but the M3 is the total package.

I used to be a service advisor for the dealership about 10 years ago so I like the CPO warranty. Things can get real expensive if a module or controller fails. There is something to be said about buying a car locally and establishing a relationship with the dealer. They are more willing to do things for you when they know you purchased the car there and will likely buy more vehicles depending on how you get treated each visit. When I was an advisor we bent over backwards for repeat buyers and many times lost money on the service visit to keep them happy. To me that's worth the extra money I might have paid for the car vs. buying one online.

^ You sound just like a sales guy! Congrats on your purchase its a beautiful car.

I get what you are saying about establishing a relationship with the dealer .... however .... that's only a plus if they dealer isn't taking an obscene amount of money from your wallet to put in his. Otherwise you're just the guy that's paying for the tires on sales guy's X5! I'm sure you know what I'm trying to say.
