Went to the dealer today..
Went to the dealer today to drop off the Z4 and got a 328i Loaner.
It seems they're trying to mimic the Paddle shifters in the M. But they don't come out far enough like on the M and don't feel right vs the old style of shifters. They look nice though.. But I don't like them. I think I'll go home and pick up my M; I rather put miles on their loaner but I'm already missing the M x.X They also had the new 6: Looks very sexy in person, I love the lines and the interior. Just really mad that a 100k car has a soft-top...

But you are right, it's not worth 100k It it was a hard top vert M6, I'd pay 100k Otherwise, I would rather get a R8 or a Porsche. Or hell a SL Recall for the HPFP. I was going to not doing it and let it die so I could lemon the car... but since my mom is the one who drives it 90% of the time, I rather change it out. I don't think she would be able to handle it shutting off on her on the freeway. In my 335i, my car shut off on me multiple times so I've gotten a hang of it, more or less. Also needed new wiper blades. and had a Check Engine light (scanned it myself and it's 02 Sensor codes)

I had a 328 loaner too 2 months ago and that MPG indicator under the tacho was driving me crazy, that has to be the most stupid thing I've ever seen on a BMW

I love the new 6 series, that thing is gorgeous...you're lucky that the dealer provides loaners with any options, mine are all completely stripped 328i sedans with automatic transmissions (the only option)

Only thing it has is sport with paddle shifters and prem pkg last time, I got a 335D with Navi, prem pkg, prem sound, paddle shifters, sport, etc etc. Considering the M3 was in the shop for 6 days... I was happy to have a nice loaner I was going to take their X3 which had nice options as well, but it was red... I don't want to drive a red SUV... And the lady before me took the Mini

I'm actually not a fan of the M3 shifters, I think they're a bit of an eye sore and too plastic fantastic. I was thinking of switching an M3 to have those, but then saw them in person and they weren't any better.
Personally I like these, cnc milled and anodized, and illuminated M3 paddles: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=431374

i was sitting in a Z4 Auto during my last service and noticed the paddles were designed very well.
1. you can push the paddles in with your thumbs on the + and - part, that's what the top parts are designed for, not for you to pull it like the DCT paddle 2. also, I thought they made the pull part of the paddles too small, but they didn't, if you feel the back side, there's a slant on it and allows ppl with smaller hands to pull back on it at a slightly different angle give it a try, i think it's designed really well. Z4 ones are like the ones in the Original E9X non-Ms.
09 Z4 Paddles (more or less. Since it's a different steering wheel, it's shaped slightly different, but still at a great location, and works like the original E9X non M paddles) BMW E9X Non-M original paddles: New E90 Non M paddles: And the current E9X M3 Paddles:
