Thumbs down The M3 is a very special car, but it's becoming too common!

Last night I spotted 3 e92 M3s in the matter of two blocks, all parked on the street, not including my M3. And no, there wasn't a meet.

When I first purchased the M3, I would see an M3 now and again, it was no big deal. But now, it's like no matter where I go, there is another 2 or 3 M3s already there. I'm a big fan of car clubs, but the exclusivity appears to be evaporating with the e9xM3.

Does anyone else get annoyed by the volume of the M3s?

I used to but after all the mods I feel I have made myself standout enough from the other cars. No two cars are modded the same (at least not a high percent by chance lol).

I understand what you're saying but I bought the car because I love it, not because I thought it was something exclusive. Don't really care how many I see, as far as I'm concerned they are simply fellow car enthusiasts...

I heard a senator (female of course) had a foursome with some fellows she knew from the local BMW club. Looks like you were not invited

I see another M3 maybe once every few weeks.

You want common? Try Camaro or Mustang.

I just moved offices and went from parking next to a 2008 E90 M3 to a 2008 E92 M3. BWI Area. It all depends on market area in which you work and live. Don't expect too many M3s in Farming Areas.

Why does this matter? I pass three E9x M3's on the way to my parking space.

word

90% of the M3s you see in the greater Toronto area are pure stock.

I've seen enough amber reflectors and nut-sack exhausts to last a lifetime.

I hear ya...

A few years ago I was passing through a wealthy community outside of DC. A guy had parked his brand new white LFA in the back of a shopping center parking lot on his way to the wine store. A few minutes later another guy in a yellow LFA pulls up, looks at the white LFA and goes and parks right next to it. They didn't know each other, but I can only imagine what the white LFA owner was thinking as he walked back to his 'common' LFA.

Ha!

M3 ain't that special or rare... heck if you go to your local dealer and see more than one of any particular car sitting out there for sale, it's nothing special. I've never even seen an LFA on the road, only at auto shows.

M3's are common were I live, I see at least 1-2 per week. I see way more M5's and M6's though.
If your buying an M3 for exclusivity then your buying the wrong car.

If you live around well-to-do folks, these type of cars are common.

Not being a jerk, but I don't think the M3 is ever considered exclusive. It's expensive yes, but it doesn't look extraordinary enough to most people.

I'm in SoCal too and I see one almost every other day driving from Valencia to Downtown LA. lol

Oh and I've only seen one LFA on the road, it was yellow . In Charlotte, NC.

Go buy a 1M.

Depends where you live. In Ontario, Canada, you'll likely see the most M3s in Toronto - they may be more common there, but likely not elsewhere.

Although I live in a community outside of Toronto that is considered relatively highly educated and well off (overall), it's very rare if I see one.

I think the $90K+ price here in Canada plus the fact it looks like a regular 3-series, it's not fuel efficient, etc., etc... you've got a small pool of interested folk to begin with.

Lots more 323i's here tho' (we have them here), 'cause they're about 40 grand only, and they got the blue and white roundel...

But common or not, barely anyone recognizes it's different than a regular 3 series.
