Disturbing 3rd to 2nd downshift, DCT....
Hi All,
After 3 years of ownership and 40k miles of driving, the car has started (3 times in last 6 weeks or so) to make a very loud clunk as I roll to a stop in manual shift mode (no matter the setting 1-6). The last two times absolutely scared the crap out of me, as the clunks were so disruptive that I swore I hit something in the road. Definitely not normal. I'm not throwing any codes....but would like to get after it proactively if possible. 08, 62k miles, supercharged, BPM Tune, stock DCT Tune Other than this, ive had no issues. thoughts? I've searched, but found nothing this disruptive. This is my 4th bmw, and have never encountered anything like this. Thanks. BK

Take a good look at all the mounts, especially the diff bolts.

Mine does something similar but on when in "D" mode. Occassionally I'll be sitting in traffic - completely still - and it feels like someone ran into the back of the car. Scares the hell out of me everytime. Dealer hasn't been able to replicate.

Mine did this in cold weather. They reflashed and updated me to 241e and a dct flash. Seemed to fix the issue but I haven't had serious cold weather to test it again. It can really seem like you got hit when it happens.
