Drove my friends AA S/c m3 with 3 BOV. You can hear the motor and S/c Bov as if they are inside the car without. MY kit is super quiet. Almost forget its S/c.

I don't think BrewRifle has actually driven an Active Autowerke supercharged, DCT M3.

As an owner of one myself, the idea that it gets annoying is kind of stupid. You don't build that much pressure during normal driving. You will only hear the blow off valves during very aggressive driving, and it's a sweet, sweet sound. Also, one of the valves releases back into the intake.

Ultimately, it's just a difference in engineering. I personally went with the AA kit because I think it's a better engineered kit with much better fit and finish. The idea that the BOV's are annoying comes from people who clearly don't know what they are talking about.

Ok, I guess I can't have a personal opinion. I went from having a 135i with a Tial BOV and yes, it gets annoying after awhile.

It's not about your having an "opinion" - it's that your opinion is based on no experience at all with the product you are forming an opinion about, and then you pass it off as some sort of factual experience with advice that it would be annoying within the first 10 minutes and a competing product is better. As an owner of the product, that "opinion" is utterly ridiculous.

As I pointed out, on the Active kit, the BOV's are not sounding off on every shift. Under normal driving and even a bit spirited, you wouldn't even know that car had a blow off valve. The only time I really hear it or notice it is when I am very aggressive, and the engine is screaming - so with all that noise anyway, a little BOV pressure release fits in well. It's pretty bad ass, actually.

Calm down. I don't think this sounds good -

I'm happy to know that you love yours.

Man, that ESS with BOV sounds awful. I wouldn't like it either if mine sounded like that.

I'm not an expert so I could be wrong, but it almost sounds like it's unable to release the amount of pressure efficiently and is struggling to do so.

BrewRifle, can you post up a video of some revving of the engine of your Ess-kit from the engine bay. nothing crazy just up to like 3,000 rpm. Every video i have seen the supercharger is much louder than mine.

I can try to capture it, but the exhaust is quite loud. Mine sounds just like all the other units at idle seen in my video here at the start - https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=8&v=K86YjvFXWEk

On my VF kit, the BOV used to open under partial throttle and it sounded like it was leaking.
