Last M3 sedan BMW sold in the US was the E36 for the last couple of years of the E36 M3 production, and I believe that the sedan outsold the coupe during that time. I wonder where the trend will go for the E9X.
In Seattle, I would say that I see about 50/50 coupe/sedan now and only a handful of E93. Granted, we're talking about a pretty small sample size as I really don't see that many of them.

The e90 is just way more practical and I like the looks better than the e92. All of it is personal preference though. As a do anything car whether it is tearing up the twisties alone or picking up my 4 kids from school, it cannot be beat.

this doesn't make any sense... performance wise, both e90 and e92 are identical, and both of them perform better than the c63 on the track. As for appearance, i guess that's debatable. To me, the e90 looks way better than the C63 or the ISF. But if you're going by appearance, then: S5 > e92 |

Whoa there everyone. This is turning into an M3 vs thread. They only end in insults being thrown around and people being accused of being fanboys.
Head over to the VS section if you want to argue. This was all nice and friendly to start. Calm down. Calm down. |

i <3 my e90
only thing i wish is that the rear lights (day running lights) be a lot more visible like the ones on e92. i can't tell the rear LED lights are on until it gets darker (i was following my friend's and noticed it)

There are definitely a lot more coupes than sedans in LA...My car's something of a rarity around here...that said the bimmer count here is astronomical and there are a ton of M cars, E46's, M5s, M6s and hordes of 3's, 5's, 7's and a fair number of 6's...LA has to be BMW largest market...I did my part w/ my 3 series coupe and sedan in recent years...

The E90 M3 has consistently been hailed as the "more desirable M3 model on market today" by Edmunds, DriverRepublic etc.
For the E36, M3 sedan outsold the M3 coupe by a small margin so I think the E90 M3 sedan will eventually be selling just as many as the coupe, if not more. Mostly because the demographics of buyers looking for an M3 want a daily drivable, practical car that can be taken to the race track over the weekend. One of the things about buying a sedan is that one has to sacrifice performance, feel to get the extra practicality and room since sedans usually weigh around 200 pounds more than coupe. Here BMW pulled off something quite spectacular where they managed to make the M3 sedan weight difference almost negligible with the coupe while offering identical performance and handling with increased practicality. That pretty much reduces the debate to looks and whether one feels the need for more practicality vs likes only 2 doors since the myth says 4 door cars "can never be sports cars as it is only 2 door coupes that qualify". |

I don't know, but I'd like to see both driven back to back on a handling course by the same driver. Physics SHOULD dictate that the lower centre of gravity will improve handling otherwise why bother with it at all? I should point out that I'm not knocking the sedan. I'm just putting a question out there. |

I posted this in another thread. Copying and pasting it from there. They both are nearly identical. Don't forget the rigidity of B-pillar, 1 inch wider rear track and 1.5 inches shorter length of the sedan.
Lap times proof just does not get anymore stronger than this: Sedan: http://www.fastestlaps.com/car4772695be960d.html Auto Zeitung track: 1:38.7 Vairano test track: 1:20.2 Hockenhein short: 1:15 Tsukuba circuit: 1:06 Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours race track: 1:26.51 (19 inch rims) Coupe: http://www.fastestlaps.com/car46f388b437911.html Auto Zeitung track: 1:40.1 Vairano test track: 1:20.9 Hockenhein short: 1:14.3 Tsukuba circuit: 1:05.9 Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours race track: 1:27.40 Based on the similar data above, it is safe to conclude both coupe and sedan are identical in performance. Convertible is a completely different story. Quote:

Here in my part of Atlanta I've seen three E90s (one female driver) and just one E92 (AW of course). I haven't seen another E93 yet.
With that said I now wish I got an E92 instead of the E93. Top down cruising is fun but I'm growing up real fast - wedding and baby in the next six months. The two extra doors and slightly larger back seats are the only thing that can keep me in an M3. Anyone in Atlanta want to trade?? |

Considering you provided no facts nor arguments, this is as light as it gets. Your "tuppenceworth" is apparently worthless. Sorry.
