At least exhaust gases come out of all four--doesn't bother me as much as the Dinan where you would see exhust in cool weather only coming out of two.

Ya, you definitely have a valid point. Maybe there will be another version, just like how there were two versions for the e36 M3. I had the second version on my old M3 which was a lot better than the original version.

Ah disappointment! I was also waiting to see what Dinan would come out with. The Price is good and with the warranty a no brainer. However I can't get over the non functioning tips. I mean how did they do it on the M5, M6 exhaust systems. I know those can't be fake.

im usually really anal about these kinda things.. fake tips.. fake vents... all that stuff... but this doesn't bother me somehow... i mean.. the car comes with a fake vent on the hood... 2 fake vents on each side of the car... does that both all you guys too?

if you close off the inner tips of this system.. what happens? will pressure bleed to the outers?

The vents don't announce themselves as fake, like the exhaust would in cool weather.

ok steve if you're reading this redesign your exhaust with a y to make both tips functional, if it causes a drone then market it as a race version. Then you will have two exhausts that satisfy both markets.

If it's a price thing, always invetigate the price with a dealer. I received dealer discounts from suggested retail AND received the recent rebates offered by Dinan. If your dealer is getting the install and particularly if you order more than one part, they're likely to cut you a deal on the part cost and maybe even on the install.

Dave
how much did you spend all mods you did I guess you added 3 items so far

Beaut? Nothing too remarkable. No way I would put non-functioning fake tips on my car. (Yes, I know I already have non-functioning fake vents, but I had no choice in that)

I don't get it, you guys act like it "matters". The pipes are almost all more resistricted upstream, so it hardly matters how many outlets there are at the end, at least so far as performance goes. The stock pipes Y into the duals. It's just a look in 99% of the cases, including the competing aftermarket pipes.

It's two thing for me: First, just the idea of non-functioning elements which should be functional; secondly, the fact that this will be very apparent in cool weather when no vapor comes out of two of the pipes. I've always been a "form follows function" kind of guy.

Ok, but none of these cars have "true" quad pipes. They're all fake so far as flow rates. The rate of flow is not functionally changing.

Do they not offer silver tips? I thought the black tips were an option.

Exactly! How is your car going to look when you start it up on a cold day?

Two of the four pipes work?

My comment was tongue in cheek. I'm surprised that this is a final product from Dinan.

Whats interesting is why does the Dinan Exhaust for the 135i have functional dual tips on its single muffler???? Also why are the dinan tips for the 135i and m5/m6 have 3.5 inch tips compared to the non functional smaller 3 inch tips of the M3 go figure!!!
