Looking for shop to flash to 240e

Anyone know a non-dealership in the Columbus area capable of auto logic updating to the 240e map.. Looking for shops that people have experience with..

You can always contact autologic directly @ 877-945-6442, they will list programming facilities in your area.

I would try finding out what software you currently have before possibly spending money on 240E.

Autologic will also determine your current software level before proceeding.

Here's the diagnostic screen showing 240E (Program reference) being detected.

So I spend $95 bucks and went to an Indy shop in columbus,OH called Acceleration to get my software updated. The bmw tech there steve was awesome. Knowledgable and super friendly. He even helped me out by staying an hour after closing to finish the flash... I updated all the non-most bus updates. I have a 9/08 build which hadn't been updated since it left the factory.

In terms of driving impressions, the car feels SO much smoother in every aspect. Startup, 1st gear and 2nd gear. No more bucking. Acceleration feels smoother. I am not sure if its "faster" per say as I don't think the m3 "feels" all that fast due to its lack of torque ( I came from a modded n54).

If anything, even if the car didn't gain any power, the overall massive improvement in drivability is worth 95 bucks.

Is it safe to assume all MY13 cars have 240E from the factory?

I'm interested in the Indianapolis area. My car is an '08--one of the launch cars. And, yes, like others, it still has the original software, dated from like December of '07.

I'd like to find someone fairly local. However, if that's not possible, it sounds like a trip to Columbus may be in order

Anybody have a line on a shop with Autologic in the Indy area?

Yay...Another indianpolis M3!!! I ask around, but I think there would be local places here. The Hoosier BMW club likes to use a guy in Noblesville I think...he might have the capability.

I'd call autologic as mentioned previously and ask for a list of providers.. The dealer can do it but they charge 250.. Vs 95 for independent shop

Hey, happos2! I've been meaning to make it to Cars 'n' Coffee. I'm sure we'd meet other locals there too

I wonder if the guy in Noblesville is Reggie's Motorworks. If so, I'd be [pleasantly] surprised if they would perform the update for much less than the dealer, like the $95 mentioned here. I could be wrong

We've seen a couple of 231E-equipped MY13s, mostly 240E though.

I'd have the dealer upgrade in your case during scheduled service. Your current SV isn't really that old enough to notice any significant changes.

You're likely 080E-100E if that's the case. Getting the software updated and spark plug change (if not performed yet) would definitely see some return performance.

Yeah, I plan to call Autologic. I saved the number. Thanks, Tom

Those are the prices I'm seeing. Dealer wants $250. I'm not quite comfortable with that. And, I certainly don't currently have the money for a $800-900 tune

Yeah, it's pretty much the oldest software I could have. I'm looking forward to seeing how the car would be with the latest offering.

Already did the plugs. Didn't really change much for that alone (not sure they were too old) but certainly a good maintenance item. And it did have a noticeable impact of fuel efficiency!

Thanks!

It was probably Reggies that I was thinking about. Rats.

I show up to Cars and Coffee every once in a while. there was an 09+ blue M3 with Dinan stuff on it, but that is all I have ever really seen. I see a few on the roads now and then, I try to wave, usually people just stare at me

Do you make it to the track much? My tires are shot so I have some nice DWS on which I might go AutoX on...should make for some entertainment and slow times!

Well, if I see you on the road, I'll wave I see a lot of 335's around on the interstates. But I don't see too many fellow M3er's out and about. I occasionally see an older M5. There's also an X5M or two up near Carmel FWIW.

I've never tracked. I don't currently have the time or budget for it. Where do you go? I've got some 19" DW's in very good shape if you're interested in swapping out. LMK. PM me.

I usually end up at Putnam or Mid-Ohio. I haven't gotten to go much this year because of budget as well (i.e. go married late last fall, saving up for a house...). Although I did find ways to do the standard bolt ones!

Thanks for the tire offer, but I don't want to destroy your tires. Only about 2 months before I switch to the Blizzaks anyways. I have a few sets of 19" tires in the basement that I need to get around to selling (2x Pilot sports, 2x Pilot Sport A/S), as well as these DWS once I get them off.
