New Post Alerting???

Alright, So I dont think there is a way at this point, but I wanted to as the question.

So lets say I am looking for a set of stock 18" wheels. What I would do now is hit the for sale/wheels and tires page over and over hoping to catch when someone posts up a set and not be 5 minutes too late and end up seeing them sold.

The concept would be to enter in some key words, and maybe even a section of the forum to track, and if there is a new post with your keywords in it, you get alerted, via, PM, email. whatever...

Is there anything like this? If not there should be!

Also i would like to see an option which notifies you when someone replies to a thread after quoting you.

check out google alerts. I think this should get you really really really close to what you want.

You can subscribe to forums and get emails when new topics are made.

What the OP is calling for is something that gives you targeted results - for example anytime a set of Brembo's goes up for sale he would get a notification. I think its an excellent idea.

But for as long as i've been on this forum I've always wondered why we couldn't receive some sort of notification anytime someone responds by QUOTING something we said. That way we know when to chime back in, without having to sift through all the old threads we've posted in.
