Nothing we haven't heard before in your post, but thanks for commenting. Hey, I've never driven a C63 - maybe it is more fun. But I don't care because the M3 is an absolute f-ing blast, especially shifting at 8400 RPM. Three years in, and it never gets old. Who would be more fun to throw around a matress - Natalie Portman or Keira Knightley? I don't know - I'll never get that chance with either one of them. But that's not important right now. The point is, I bet the guy banging Natalie tonight isn't wasting his time thinking, you know I wish I was with Keira right now. |

AMG really needs to hire some better chassis engineers if they really want to surpass the M cars. They build amazing engines but they just don't seem to know how to make a car handle as well as BMW.

i'm not surprised, why would you assume there was massive changes? Not much has changed in the 2012 AMG...the coupe body bulit on the same chassis, and MCT. The engine stayed the same, and I assume the suspension stayed the same. It's more or less the same car. Now the 2013 C AMG with the 5.5L, now that is a different car.

Let her drive the car. What's the big deal? For you it's about the car, but for her it's something else entirely. If you don't make a big deal about it she eventually won't want to drive it. Other options are buying her something SHE wants to drive or modding the car to the point where she doesn't want to drive it.

They've come really close with the C63 AMG. I'm sure if the AMG had a LSD standard and was able to put the power down, it would help it's score. I've got an appointment to drive the Coupe once it's available.

The M3 is a precision instrument, surgical handling great control and I love it. The C63 is like a hammer and no amount of suspension tuning or even an lsd will make it better than the M. I should know since mine has the LSD, I do love it as a DD though.

do you think the P31 package makes a huge difference? I mean, the LSD is one thing, but 30 more hp, can you feel it? Or the LSD makes a bigger difference? i guess if you don't drive it on a track you won't notice the LSD working...

In my C63 I would pull out of my neighborhood all the time with rear tire spin and I wasn't even trying. The DSC would kick in and sometimes your forward progress would be more limited than you would have with a car with less torque. As the tires get warmer this effect is somewhat lessened. |

I've pushed it hard on the twisty roads and the LSD makes a noticeable difference. I've used that same stretch of road on back to back tests with the M3, C63 and C63 P31. The M3 was king in the twisties, the P31 has much more confidence than the normal C63. As for the straightaways, the P31 ruled them all. That extra 30HP is negligible though. For city driving the normal C63 felt no different than the P31. IMO the low end torque made it more suitable than the M for city driving/hooning. In the end, Merc won me over with a great deal. It's really hard to choose between both cars unless you're a professional race car driver.

I came very close to ordering a C63 coupe but I decided to pull the trigger on a E92 M3 sometime this week. Im still in love with the C63's red/black interior though!

To me the C63 seems more like it should be compared to the M5. As it's more of a highway monster than a track car. It's just cheaper finishes, and smaller than M5 so it's a completely different price point. But I think it's aimed more towards the same demographic. My C63 was a really fun for highway trips.
