Newbee to the M3!

Hi everyone,

Today I got for myself E90 M3 sedan in Silverstone 2010 with 10.000km. Fully loaded except for moonroof and HUD.
Love the car but having problems with low end torque.
I have also F15 X5 5.0, so compared to X5 the low end torque really lacks.
Can you guys suggest with what to start for modding the car. Exhaust I think is needed also. But I do not want a very loud car.
Which exhaust is the best?
What can I do to increase the power of the car?

Suggestions are welcomed and appreciated!!!

Congrats & Welcome .
HUD is only available for the new F80/82 ,and not for the E9X..never was .
For an exhaust you can go for the Oem. exhaust mod ,it's cheap and it sounds very good , or the after market exhaust choise is huge .
For power you can go for a tune , and if you want more out of it you can go for test pipes but this will make the car very loud .
If your car is DCT....software/upgrade is available in combination with engine/tune .
When all this is not enough for you , you need a super charger !

Congrats and welcome! Spend some time searching the site, there are plenty of options to increase power.

Oem exhaust mod is MPE exhaust?
In my country we do not have any tuning specialists so it is a bit of a problem with the ecu tuning. Can I find a good tune which plug&play?

Congrats, I hope you'll enjoy it.

I recommend the Gintani exhaust box, I really like the sound and it is less common than the MPE.

As for low-end torque my suggestion would be to give yourself a little time to get used to the characteristics of the engine before starting to mod it. It's a lot like a classic 911, with little happening below 3500-4500 revs.

You might still want to mod it after all, of course, but let it sink in a little.

Enjoy!

Don't let the revs fall below 3k rpm and torque won't be an issue.

Test pipes + tune give a healthy power bump.

Oem. exhaust mod. is "NOT" the MPE .(MPE is the ///M Performance exhaust)
Here is my thread about the Oem. exhaust mod and on page 1..# 7 includes a DIY/Video =>http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=733817
You can show the DIY/Video at your local shop/s , and I'm sure they should be able to do it ! (when they are able to weld...they can do it )

For a very good tune you can go for the cable remote tune from BPM it's done all over the world , and so also here in Belgium with me .
BPM/Tune => http://www.bpmsport.com/featured/tune-bpm-e9x-m.html

Hope this will help ...

Stock Muffler w/ Test Pipes; then tune. Maybe add a pulley for good measure.

Or, get a supercharger.

You can get a tune from one of the many vendors on this site as they do this remotely all the time.

Yes! You can get a tune that's plug & play.

If you want a exhaust thats not to loud but gives a better grunt? Then get the MPE or Akrapovic (rear section only) exhaust.

Happy man indeed! Congrats, she looks very nice! Not too loud, exotic and classy...M Performance Exhaust is my nirvana in the exhaust realm. Here are a couple of shots on my last SSII for a visual.
