Evolve M3 vs Stg 3 335i
For those who don't visit the Photo/Video forum, we thought you'd like to see how a well tuned M3 sits against the 335i. Text from http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=560332 Information from member: Bomis. - Hope you don't me reposting
Hi Guys! This is a video taken from one of our events we had here in Sweden last weekend at Björkvik airstrip. Rolling start on 2nd gear 50-270 km/h against a stage 3 335i with Supersprint catback - Vishnu v5 Autotuning - BMS DCI with custom heatshield - Forge IC - UR CL DP's & 18" BBS. My mods: Evolve-R ECU stage 1 98RON+ tune ,MS stg2 intake kit with scoops, gintani axleback exhaust. Im very happy with the result! Sal@Evolve is just awesome! This guy knows how to tune cars!!! The car pulls really really hard now, but yet so silk smooth compared to before. MAGIC! Thank you Sal!!! Next mod will be x-pipe with racecats together with the even stronger stage 2 x-pipe flash! Enjoy! |

That is VERY impressive! I've been in 335i's with very similar mods and they definitely feel faster than our stock E90 M3. To see this E92 M3 with your tune and basic bolt ons pull like that says A LOT! I can't wait to see how things change when he gets a new XPipe and retune!
Great work as always Evolve!

How much boost was the 335 running? He had a poor start and reeled the m3 in.....if boost was set to a street map then it's actually a good result for the N54, but on race gas and 17-18psi the M3 would have gotten walked

When my car was NA, around 370whp, against any 335I on pump fuel it was an easy kill, even Hotrod's 335I. I ran a handful of them, with the 335I on race gas or Meth, it was very close, slight edge to the 335I but not until triple digit speeds. Having said that I think the 335I has gotten faster since then on race gas files, updated tuning, etc, they are in the 9's 60-130, and on Nitrous Hotrod's hit 6.9, 60-130, that's moving guys. Love the vid Sal, keep up the good work.

The comparison video that was posted with the stock M3 says it all. Massive difference.

if that one was stock lost like it did, and the evolve tune and muffler only car ran against that 335 the way it did seems the tune and muffler combo did a significant amount.
This would be the only somewhat showing of what a tune does. So far there have been no actual road test, races, 1/4, 60-130 runs showing what a tune does on the road. So as long as both m3's had the same tranny and both had decent driver then it says a lot for the tune and exhaust.

This is in no way a promo video of ours, just a customers recording. We weren't there to ensure all things were equal, for all we know the 'stock' car could have let off, or even had a problem/used bad fuel.
We are just happy that our customers car did well against a highly tuned 335i that is often stated as an M3 eater, and that the owner himself testifies to it being a decent run. |

Hi!
Its my M3 in the video and both me an my friends car runned perfectly fine! As you can see in his reply in the othr thread! http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...5&postcount=33 The 335 in the videos is mine and it was running perfectly in both races against the M3´s, I lost a bit of traction at the start in the race against Bomis but he won the race hands down! I´m am also very impressed of the Evolve-tune I did not think it was possible to gain so much over stock from just a software and intake on a N/A BMW engine! So now I will do anything I can to smoke you at the next event without meth-injection EDIT: I was boosting 15,5-16psi with 98 RON in the tank. And this is not a promo. We have about 5 events a year at Björkvik airstrip when we compare different sportcars performance against each other, its really awesome!

I know how fast a stg 3 335 is. Had one before the m3, but with the tune, exhaust and intake kit the M feel just as fast.
My 335 had Giac stg2+ , vanguard full exhaust, ar dp's, injen intake, er chargepipe, forge dv's, helix intercooler
