The ChumpCar World Series at Shannonville
So who would be interested in putting an entry together for this?Looks like a pile of fun!
http://www.chumpcar.com/about.php 22-23 May 2010 Shannonville Motorsports Park (Ontario, Canada) Entry Deadline: 22 March 2010 It's the Shannonville Shuffle! We're on the full course and we're shuffling the cars around! What We're About Welcome to ChumpCar – North America’s home for $500 race cars and 24 hour endurance road racing. This series is for gear-heads; for people who love driving and driving fast. It’s for grassroots race teams and almost-race-ready cars. ChumpCar is a throw-back to the era when racing was fun and cheap… when Bondo beat carbon-fiber; when a crescent wrench was the most valuable tool in your box; when home-made engineering made everyone sit up and take notice; and when adding a little theme to your car didn’t get you laughed out of the pit. Those were good times… and they’re back. So, do you think you’ve got what it takes, chump? If so, join us. |

You know you didn't even have to ask to get my response.
Hell yes! But NO we can not use my M3. We will have to search for a $500 lawn tractor as I think there is a good amount of grass at Shannonville.

I may be interested, but I want to budget it out first:
-Car 500/4 = $125 -Drivers Fee = $100 -Race Licence = $50 -First Time Racers Class = $25 (mandatory) -Timing Transponder $50/4 = $12.50 -Nomex racing suit = $350+ (minimum 2 layer unless you want to also wear flame retardant long johns) -Gloves = $50-100 -Helmet, shoes, socks if you don't have them Then you have things like window nets, safety padding, fire extinguishers, the roll cage, and other safety equipment. Then finally car prep. Brakes, engine, repairs, bodywork, tires, lighting ~$2000 / 4 = $500 Gas as well. This is a total of 14 hours of driving. 7 on Sat 7 on Sun. Then you have transportation costs, camping fees ($20 a night donation) food while there etc etc etc etc etc etc approx another $100 each In total that might Come to $1350-1550 each for the weekend. Does that sound about right? It might be hard to choose this over 2-3 track days at mosport big track lol... Although this in a way would be cooler. |

Over my dead body damn it! I know Jaypod has ill intentions toward my E30, but he will never, I repeat, never have it. We're talking motorsport history. I will defend it!
