comparison
actually it does look the same. but this one appears to fit where as looking at karbonwerks, fitment on corner angles have huge gaps. fitment is far more important when buying a part. I have been shopping for the right trunk and appears every trunk lid in the market have their fairshare of fitment issues one way or another.. some prefer replace the trunk while others prefers keep the OEM. new piece in the market doesn't hurt

Thanks. Oddly, anyway I google it, their site didn't come up. If i google the actual url, of course.
So how is this attached and is it easily reversible?

I bought one for my E90 there are 2 options of mounting it. 1.)Betalink or 3m tape along the edges. 2.)Or Silicon all along the underside which needs to be caked on and spread out evenly throughoutt the topside of the trunk so that there are no air pockets. Its easily reversible you may have some small scratches from the the underside of the carbon but mine was easily buffed out. ProjectM told me they are sanding the underside so it will be smoother from now on.

Oh yea also forgot. Project M just finished the design for the E92 saw it at their booth during BimmerFest 2011!!! LOOKS SWEET! He's starting production on the trunk immediately after the show. I signed myself up for the first Group Buy. I was told that the first 10 would get really good pricing! Muahaha. Anyways here are the pics, enjoy!

Great idea and looks good! Personally, I don't think the CSL-style trunk lids are as superb looking on an E9X. Loved the style on the E46 M3 though.

amazing
idea and fitment is just too good to be true.. new member here and recently joined the forum after meeting a few folks at bimmerfest who recommended this forum.. was browsing thru n notice this thread as im in search of something this, full trunk csl or spoiler for my ride.
i was lucky enough to be at their booth and took a a few pics of the sedan with the trunk. I must say i was shocked it was an overlay. was looking at it for at least 10mins and they didnt' say a word until i was ready to leave. I couldn't believe it and i made them open the trunk to validate their statement. I saw three other trunks which all had noticeable mis alignment or inconsistent on the lines or gaps ? this one and another starts with V was dead on with the fitment. I guess you would have to see it for yourself to believe the fitment but, i will vouch for these guys product as i saw it with my own eyes. heres a few pics and hope the owner of the car don't get pissed for posting them. please send me a message if i shouldnt be posting pics of his car. will delete the lic plate |
