He should be back next week. I will definately be upset if it doesn't come with the new Combox. My Vehicle Inquiry Report states that it is included in the build list.
You should fine on both fronts. My car was completed this morning so you will be done in plenty of time for your Sept 27 ED. I am envious, one day I will do the ED though that's goign to wait till the kids are a bit older.

Congrats! I'll have ED pictures up and will check if the Combox is there first thing! I'm assuming I'll see my car before yours arrives stateside. If mine doesn't have it then its bad news for all of us .

When did this info come out? Was it just released as an update to concerns on the combox matter? Or was it an old bulletin from 2 months ago?

The original release in July does make a distinction on timing for the X5 and X6 as this information seems to. Leads me to believe it is new but confirming a source would give some comfort. Perhaps it is a response to a question 335i Piotr sent to the BMWNA...

Doh! Typing too fast, the original release does NOT make a distinction for X5 and X6...

I just talked to the 1-800 line and the guy said that my car started production today at 10:36am EST and that the status is at 150!! Car should be done by middle of next week- he also said that ALL M3s built in September that were ordered with the combox will in fact get them

Just a follow up... I sent BMWNA a detailed e-mail outlining my situation and my concerns about my M3 order and the rumored combox issue. I got an email this morning indicating that my situation would be looked into and that they would call me later today. I just received that call and I was told "based on our information, your car will have the combox"... But I still plan on plugging in my iPod before signing anything!

And my car can no longer be tracked by BMWNA, meaning it is at the port. The website now shows Awaiting Transport!

That's great man,you are now that much closer.

Is there a way for me to find out more info than dealer can give me.I was told week35 build which we all know is bull. I have production # and we know they are building week37. I need more info then dealer is able to give. BMWNA system is always behind dealer and know less then dealer. Is there a way to get more help then dealer is offering .

Congrats you car will arrive as expected.

The 800 # has just as timely info as the dealer. Call and hit "0" to talk to a rep. They can give you details not included in the computerized recording...

I always talk to the rep and don't get anywhere with them just S for production. No production date,no vin. asfi163 put his order 1 day before me and his car is almost done. I was a week 35 build as dealer say but because of the new updates could have been pushed back.Itell him i know all about being pushed back, but other cars being made that had later then week 35 build and and told him a guy that placed order day before me car was just about finished. He has nothing to say.

I am so tired or this this whole thing is just ruining the BMW experince it just sucks. I asked dealer to call up and see if he can get more info and he says there is knowone to call.

Well enjoy your car and I hope it is smooth sailing for you from this point man. Its just hard to belive I cant get more detailed info :-(.

I ordered mine July 28th and don't have any VIN or scheduled production date. When did you order yours?

I ordered mine July 24th. Remember that each dealer has an allocation each month for each model. Higher volume dealers get more allocations. But being higher volume dealers they could have sold their slots months in advance. You may have placed a order but the dealer doesn't have a slot until say Oct production. Of course they should be more open about the situation and tell you that but I guess they are afraid that you'll go to another dealer who may be able to fill your order sooner...

I got lucky and my dealer had a 335 slot which was simply for dealer inventory and they were able it switch to my M3. Being that this is my fifth car from them, so they gladly made the switch.
