Scribble doesn't hold water in court. He probably was a cocky little piss an hour later. Or at least after daddy told him it was going to be ok and gave him some toilet paper and a kleenex.

At first I didn't believe this story because it sounded too perfect to be true.

But after seeing the scanned citation I am a believer. That is awesome.

Agreed. Normally I'd say that you went way overboard with the 4-5 tickets AND the impound. He probably won't be able to afford driving again for a year or two. But his continued effort to race, as well as calling you a 'pussy' sealed his fate. Teenagers

On a side note, "Exhibition of speed" is usually such a crap ticket. Us moto riders get them regularly for garbage reasons other than an officer is in need of filling quota. Not my fault the bike hauls to 60 mph in 3 seconds No wheels spin, no speed limits broken, both wheels on ground... let me have fun with my acceleration.

Yup and pretty much normally I wouldn't care. This guy went that extra mile to get my attention. I see people speed and do crazy stuff all the time around me when I am driving my personal car. All good to me!

I am a car enthusiast and I love BMWs. Most guys that I work with drive pick-up trucks for SUVs... I am a rare one in my department because I love BMWs. I love tuning and buying new stuff for the car. Plus, this is the absolute first time I have ever done this in my 4 years of working. So yea.. he went that extra mile and beyond...

As wonderful a story as that is, why would not have showed him your badge in the beginning to avoid the excessive speed, weaving out of traffic, etc which followed.

I told my dad (retired cop) your story and it had him rollin! He started laughing hysterically at the part where the kid started to cry, and thinks it would have been that much better to see that "punk ass get arrested." hahaha.

Awesome story, OP. You made my Thursday. I felt sorry for the kid a split second before remembering how much he groaded you. Well done, sir! Love to have seen the kid's expression when you pulled up beside them and put on the vest. Instead of you both getting ticketed, YOU gave him a ticket.

Probably cause OP didn't plan to cite him till offense #4. And by that point, the kid crossed the line with the insults.

Because then he would never have learned his lesson. He'll probably just go on picking on someone else. If it's one thing I hate the most in life are people that force/pressure/bully others into doing things. I saw this thing on the news where a HS girl was being bullied so much (at school, via text and AIM) that she tried to commit suicide. It failed but she was never the same after that. She ended up in a wheel chair and is almost brain dead.

OP definitely taught that kid a lesson. Hopefully one he won't forget for a while. OP might have saved the kid's life somewhere down the line if the kid learns his lesson. Next time he could be running his mouth off to someone dangerous.

This is hilarious.....but kinda shitty this close to Christmas man.

Did this punk deserve it? Absolutely, but I probably would've cut him a break and spanked him with my 335 instead

Well I guess we know what his Christmas present will be.... getting his car back from impound

Really though guys. I am no saint myself. I didn't buy a 335i to always drive the speed limit and go slow. Have I been pulled over for speeding before? Of course I have. Have I ever gone up against other cars? Of course I have. Again, its all human nature and sometimes people do things at the heat of the moment. That's why 99% of the tickets I write are NON Speeding tickets. In my 4 years I have only issued 2 speeding tickets and this is one of them.

If this kid was just speeding around like an idiot I wouldn't have even cared. The mere fact that he was calling me names and egging me on. That's a different story. Before I got on with the department I had a e36 and was racing everyone and believe me I had my fair share of tickets and I deserved every one of them. When I got the 335i well, I had a few lapses back to my old e36 days.. but in the end I never did anything crazy. Members that know me personally on this board can vouch for me personally. Hell, I don't even pull people over for no front plates because I don't have one myself.

I'm not super big on traffic tickets and pulling people over. Its the drug dealers, gang bangers, and guys who beat up on their wives n kids that interest me. Hell, one day I may get pulled over for running someone and when/if that days comes I will eat it.

Believe me, I sympathize with car enthusiasts as I have given a million breaks...this is just an isolated case. I don't feel high and mighty.. this kid just had it coming...
