did RIM just pay to get Apple more publicity? not that they need it or anything. Dumbest ad campaign ever.

RIM is still relevant in business like Microsoft is still relevant in business. Consumer segment be damned. Layoffs, sure. But not done. But yes, a lame campaign by an incompetent consumer division at RIM.

Would be great if it was all staged by apple and just meant to damage RIM further. Don't see any copyright violations...

Their business side is beginning to hemorrhage as well now, they are beginning to loose the Federal business and companies are beginning to deploy the iPhone over new RIM products. As apple did back in the 80's where employees demand they be allow to use their Mac at work the same is happening with the iPhone. people are demanding they be allow to use an iPhone.

+ one to the above.

They are certainly on the verge of collapse on the business side of things, albeit totally done on the consumer side of things. BlackBerry's perform wonderfully in the business world, namely their email platform and battery longevity.

I really wish them well. I loved my BB's and would purchase a new one in a heart beat if it was up to par with other cell phones on the market (I.e. 4g, dual core, RELIABLE). I have found that there isn't a phone that competes with the email platform that RIM runs, which is a huge selling point for me but just not enough simply because they're lacking else where.

Time will tell.. crazy to think these were the phones to have 3-4 years ago.

lol, I don't think "still relevant in business" is fair to Microsoft seeing as Windows is running on most of the computers on the planet :P

although they are getting destroyed in the mobile phone sector (2% market share or something lol)

My company issues Blackberries since they have been for years. I personally hate them and use an android device for personal use.

I work in our help desk and deal with the devices daily. If someone comes up with a working alternative to GOOD to puch emails and such to phones, and takes the enterprise security parts of blackberry, and forces apple to ease on flow control, there would be a clear winner and a no brainer device.

Wasn't this done by Samsung, not RIM?

This would be all over CrackBerry and the other mobile blogs. I saw it a couple of weeks ago, and it was Samsung (Android) NOT RIM...

I have a BlackBerry and love it. (I also use iOS products and a Mac, but for a phone, my BB is the best).

Also, the BlackBerry10 keynote was extremely promising.

Makes more sense given their constant legal/marketing scraps, not sure why I assumed it was RIM (probably read it in the video link).

maybe it was apple?
