Thumbs up Challenge E90 Harness Bar - any interest?

Hi all,

I wanted to gauge some interest in an E90 application of the Challenge harness bar currently available for the E92:

After speaking to GT Motoring this week (and pending viable interest here of at least 4-5 people), I will be dropping my car off in the upcoming month to have measurements taken and a legitimate sedan variant made.

More info from the IND thread here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=648648

Feel free to add your name to the list below!

I'm in on a couple of conditions; 1) Does not interfere with use of rear seats (I have passengers on a semi-regular basis) or; 2) If it impedes rear seat use then it must be easily removable, at least the parts that are in the way.

Understood! I'll try and get some clarification from GTM about these things, but hopefully they'll be able to accommodate your requirements

I'm using the schroth harness with my e90 already, how will this be different than using the factory seatbelt clips?

Thanks Mike!

Since the E90 is a sedan and likely will see more passenger use I think we would be wise to make this version more easily removed when compared to our coupe one. Anyone disagree with this? It is never ok to have passengers in the back with a harness bar installed so if you guys are wanting more use of the rear seats I think we'll go this direction in the design and make it more easily removed.

Thanks for chiming in, Greg! I definitely would love the ability to be easily removed. I make use of the fold-down seats for equipment every now and again so this feature would be very much appreciated. Here's the updated list:

2. VictorH
3. evilspiritM3

Two more and we're off and running!

AWESOME!! Here's our list of 5:

1. MikeM5
2. VictorH
3. evilspiritM3
4. studntloan
5. E90M3velocity

We actually have a sixth committed to the bar who reached out via PM. I'm going to reach out to a couple others to see if they're interested as well to see if that would sweeten the deal for all of us even more.

I'll update the thread later on today after I pass on the good news to Greg! Thanks again, everyone!

Just to keep everyone in the loop, I spoke to Greg on Friday about the bar and we should be able to keep the cost +/-50 from the coupe unit. He is speaking to his fabricator on Monday to get a more concrete idea of when they can begin taking measurements and putting together the prototype.

Thanks again, everyone!

Spoke to Greg - he is still working on a definitive date with his fabricator, but he/I will keep you all posted as soon as it's figured out!
