First lap of the SCCA June Sprints Touring 2 class

The video if from my buddies car (996 C2). I am in the black/orange E46 M3. The WeatherTech Mustang and blue Evo were also in our class, but we had nothing for them. I had a bobble in the kink (around the 2:10 mark) and he got a great run on me. I was able to stay in his mirrors the rest of the race, but couldn't make a pass.

Nice T2 is such a fun class to watch. Wish I could have made it up to watch last weekend.

Awesome video! Things got real tight, especially that back straight towards Canada corner, I get freaked a bit when there's no cars around. Have to go and watch one of these, thanks for posting

Saw your video down at Autobahn. Line looks good. Nice work keeping up with the 4.0!

Thanks. Keep wondering how much time a proper coilover and R comp would save me and if you could get close to that 2:35 time in the video...These are the things I now think about at night

My qualifying time was a personal best @ 2:30.1. First race lap is typically slower due to the start and traffic. But yes, R-comps will cut big chunks of time without having to to much else.

What were your times on at Autobahn?

Was running consistent 2:53's (have a 2:50 on video) on the full, but felt the track was much slicker than last year. Will see where I'm at by the end of the year. Don't want any records or anything, just some respectable times in my street car, but just thinking with tires and a proper suspension setup I can achieve those goals. Really hope to see more of the racers out there, and I almost always seem to be the lone e9x out there in the Midwest with the occasional 1 or maybe 2 others occasionally, just don't really have a similar car to compare with. All Porsches and vettes in the Midwest.

Yeah, that was a low moment, primarily becuase it was 99% driver error. Have learned a lot since then.
