Lug Nut Hell
So I'm looking for a little help. I swapped my winter and summer rims. In the process I lost the locking lug. I ordered a replacement set (bolts and key), but the key has a different number of ridges. The new one has 13 ridges. The old one has more.
1) Any idea of the part number for the old one? Can I just buy the lock lug? 2) Anyone in the Philly area with an old one I could borrow for 5 minutes to swap to the new set? TIA John |

The dealer can give you oem keys or you should have gotten a card when you bought the lugs which tell you the key you need.

Sorry guys, you are all talking about a different type of lock.
[HTTP]http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E46-M3-S54_3.2l/Wheels/Locks/ES65870/[/HTTP] The above is the type I'm talking about. Pounding a socket on will probably not work. |

1. Go to dealer see if they can figure out key number.
2. Need to buy or take car to someone that has a "locking lug removal tool kit" then it is exercise in brute force and luck. 3. Weld socket or short lug bolt on then remove as you would. 4. Drill it out. Out of ideas good luck.

Is there enough room to use a gator socket or similar?
Other options is go to a wheel shop, they usually have extra keys for various wheel locks.
