Tire Recommendation
My 2011 M3 Convertible will need tires soon. What is the recommendation for good life, quiet...am not a super racer...Am fairly easy on tires. I see Contis, Pirelli, Michelin, Bridgestone.... What do you recommend for quiet, good life, reasonable price. thanks

i think most would steer you in the direction of the Mich super sports, the bridgestone potenza, or the conti cross contact. i have pzeros on mine (from factory) and although i really enjoyed them, they lasted 7000 miles. i think that the supersports are best of all worlds, as indicated by this survey from tire rack:

Especially if you're not a track start, the Michelin Super Sports are the best summer tire for the M3. Wear rate, performance, low sound, there is simply no other tire that could compare to it in its class. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but they are good value.

For factory/stock sizes, Super Sports are probably the best. I still don't know why they don't make the 285/30-19 size. I went with Bridgestone S04's instead for that reason.

For the newbs here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...ght=vredestien IMO, it doesn't really matter if you're just doing street driving. Any of the name brand tires will be fine. .

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Michelin Pilot Super Sports, Yokohoma Advan AD08, Dunlop Star Specs, and Hankook RS-3s are our recommended tires. RS-3s and Star Specs have a lower tread life and more geared towards heavier track use though, as they are considered "extreme summer tires"
