If I've picked up on the pattern correctly, then the subsequent car will be the GTS-RQ.

Cool, but doesn't really apply to me.

Next model: M3 GTS-RVQO9000 (Very Quick Over 9000)

People will replicate body parts from the M3 GTS, and even people without M3's(328/335 owners), will be able the make their car look like the GTS.

Just like what happened with the E46 M3 CSL. Never came to US, but the awesome styling cues can be seen on alot of E46's in aftermarket parts.

I see it as a bonus, more aftermarket parts & selection.

And when are you coming back to E46F Allure?

Not quite sure what I would do with a M3 GTS-R on streets. Can someone enlighten me with benefits over a regular M3?

It'll go faster, handle better, and stop quicker!

gentlemen gentlemen...

An M3 is a daily driver, aka sedan/coupe and has a boot for shopping.

All of us that hanker after a racing car with a boot is just nuts.

The GTS is ridiculously over priced, and a stock Porsche 997 GTS evo 2 is far better, if that's your bag.

I am in for less money with an M3 that is better than a GTS IMO.

When I want more, which is soon, I will get one of these...
700HP, 860 nM
Nothing nicer than that

I believe what Scott meant here, is that as with the GTS, the GTS-R will be limited production and you will pay a premium to own one.

I hope I'm wrong, an M6 CSL based off the M5 CSL concept last year would be awesome.

edit:

also, I hope they can do more than just a CF bonnet and boot lid... I doubt that would be enough to offset the weight of a KERS system. I think they still need to loose another 50-100kgs in weight.

Wasn't he one of the first to drive the GTS when it came out after he won some MotoGP race?

Yes. He drove it, and was supposed to get a new M3 I think for winning MotoGP last year, but fell in love with the GTS, and they eventually agreed to let him upgrade to the GTS. Don't know if that actually happened, but that was the talk 8 months ago.

no offense to anyone but that porsche looks horrendous at the back. it's far too busy and seriously what's with all the scaffolding? It looks like a construction site at the back.

Hey, If I were spending double the cost of an M3 GTS on an aftermarket Porsche, I'd damn well want lots of extra bits to show off!
