Muffler mod / gutted cats HD audio
Made this today in case anyone was wondering what the sound might be like by hacking up a $2000 OEM exhaust. Cost me roughly $85 since I used exhaust heat wrap inside the muffler instead of replacing the pipes with solid ones. Couldn't be happier. |

Sound's exactly the same as mine...i replaced the 2 big perforated pipes by 2 full stainless steel pipes
But i think...on long term...your exhaust wrap(the easy solution)will burn away, due to the high temperatures inside the muffler ! Link to my post about this vvvvvvvvv http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=733817 Last edited by ///M Power-Belgium; 02-03-2013 at 02:45 PM.. |

It probably will but working at a body shop is a perk. I'll just do the replacement later. I wanted to see if this would be enough for my liking or if I should fork out the cash for aftermarket. Aftermarket will net power gains on the muffler side, and I doubt this nets much of anything. The cats though did help. I notice a change in torque.
It's not straight through since it has the primary cats still and there are no CEL issues. |

Cool stuff! I am doing the mod as well but getting rid of the middle part of the muffler all together and replacing the 400 cells with test pipes. I am excited after hearing that HD clip. Thanks for the share!
So this is with the 200 cells gutted? |
