Here's my take: he thought that he was understeering, so he tried to unload the front tires by straightening the wheel, but ran out of road. Or, perhaps I'm giving him too much credit.

Way too much credit. Seating/hand position alone shows he was clueless.

Although we never see the passenger in the clip it sure sounds like he got the worst of it. The driver was able to walk out within a few short seconds after the car came to a stop. I hope there wasn't anyone in the back seat without their belts on. He sure got some air and came down HARD.

Let this be a lesson, if you wanna satisfy your need for speed take it to the track. At least you don't have gigantic desert rocks right next to the apex!!!

Scary part is the way his head would have smashed thru the drivers side window if it had not been down....his head whiplashed THRU the window. That would have really hurt.....

Hey, at least he is ok.....it's why they say, keep it on the track

It looked like target fixation. He saw the rocks and stared at them so he went towards them!!!!!

Dude, with THAT MUCH money, I would've thought Bieber could drive...

But seriously, when I was 16 I punched through our home garage door with my fifteen year old VW Jetta (Wolfsburg Edition FTW) because I thought I was in reverse when really in first - huge sloping driveway, so I had to launch. WHO GETS AN M3 AT 16 THOUGH!?!?!?

Exactly, everyone is talking shit about the kid. I don't drive like that and I'm sure most of us don't especially on a roadway, but everyone knows everyone has pushed our cars just a little bit. IM not taking that kids side or saying that type of driving should be allowed, but there is no one out there who hasn't floored their car or gave it a little more gas through the canyons or a twisty road. I'm sure no one has taken it to that level on a roadway but you all know he have pushed it in some way or form, even if it was just for a second... Sometimes it only takes a second.

Might be the worst driver I've ever seen. He moved his whole body when he turns the wheel.

This is not the case.

This kid was not pushing the car for a second or driving spiritedly.. he was driving reckless. Straight reckless with no regard for himself or others.

Look at the 9 second mark.. he is totally in the other lane going over a blind turn / crest. If another car was coming, we all know the outcome would have been far different.

This video is actually eye opening to me; how someone could be on the road with such blatant disregard. The seating position.. the hand position.. full body leaning into the turns.. crossing the double yellow.. the guy just does not have a clue.
