good resources for jobs hunting.
Looking to make some changes. I know the Ladder is a good place to start. Were there any other websites you can suggest posting resumes to that has been good for you? If so please advise.
Thanks! |

actually i am finding out the whole world is a scam. Just trying to pick the lesser evil. It's so hard. I haven't paid for the service so can't say anything. I talked to one place to do resume and they wanted 3.5k just to do my resume. Were they printing it in Gold plated papers? lol.

Yeah and Linked in....it's just Facebook wrong...it's like a total sausage fest.
Everyone on there is puffing up their chests desperate for a job. I've seen some peoples profiles and you would think they were the inventors of the sun? |

This has worked for a friend of mine. Go on Indeed.com (which I personally like) and if a job posting has a name (POC) attached to it, find them on Linked in and send them a friendly note. Seems like that works, he pretty much nailed all his interviews that way. There is also a website called 'Dice' which is where most recruiting companies look at. What kind of work are you looking for Raja?

Indeed.com (consolidates all postings out there)
Dice - (more for IT/IS technical jobs) Hotjobs (landed me a job years ago) JobFairs & recruting functions (look up staffing agencies or professional consulting/search firms) My current job has been through a referral/recommendaiton

Honestly i just don't understand Linked in.
It's facebook for the job desperate and the ego rich... Reading some of the self declarations you would wonder why these people are without a job? I guess anyone can write anything right? Like I said it reminds me of a dude filled bar where every dude is trying to updue the other dudes story…it just smells desperate and odd. I honestly don’t know anyone who has ever landed job using linked in. Shady deals and hustles…yeah….actual 9-5 job…no |

Anyone heard of Capstone Affluent Strategies? I was invited back to hear about the company's vision.
I know it's sales and probably alot of commission, but is it possible to have an hourly salary as well? I hope it's not one of those companies that will brag how rich I will get and ask me to pay a bunch of fees and then bring my friends. I went to a World Financial Group interview and seminar where they talked how rich everyone was getting, yet the person who drove us to that seminar took us in a old Toyota van and was too cheap to use the toll road. Our transportation didn't seem up to par about how they bragged how they were driving S class Mercedes and how C class is so inferior. I actually enjoy the C class, I really am not a big fan of big luxury sedans, they are too boring to drive and hard to park. |

Raja, if you're cleared, I've had good luck on clearancejobs.com
I've recently been contacted at least once a week through LinkedIn (I'm not even actively looking), and I do believe it has gotten much better for recruiting. Join groups and such to become more visible. |
