You're making me regret missing out on the third blue session Sunday -- I was doing my check test with the black group and getting my ass handed to me But I managed to get my advanced/solo sticker even though I was the slowest thing out there.
Did you have an instructor with you that weekend? Congrats on advancing, I wonder if I should move up to advanced also.

Thanks, I was driving pissed off because I got a flat tire after the first session. To add insult to injury, I pulled my back when I was changing to Hans' tires. It was so painful Hans had to pack my wheels/ tires into the car for me at the end of the weekend. The tires are still sitting in the back seat, not touching them until my back heals.

In all seriousness, I learned to drive like that at AutoX. Not the quickest way around the track but I didn't have a choice because those PS2s were becoming extremely unpredictable due to them over heating. It was a lot of fun though!

And yes, Eibach with e36 M3 bumpstops. Which reminds me, I forgot to take a ride in Ashley's car to feel the ride with the KWs... Fail.

Matt, I saw you on Chris' Facebook page. I'll definitely have to say hi next time! Your car was trying to blow out my ear drums every time it came around! I think you had the loudest car there, even louder than the stock car.

I had an instructor. Judging from your video, you should be able to handle the advanced group. My instructor just wanted me to get checked out so I could solo on Summit Main (home track) next time I get out there with TrackDaze. If I hit VIR again soon, I'll probably do intermediate solo.

I did a lead/follow exercise with an E36 the first blue session of day 2. Helped me figure out some things I was doing wrong. Not the fastest way around the track (had to lift on the back straight to stay behind, although a few times I was getting eaten alive in the turns), but something to watch:

I'd be surprised if it were not a sub 2:00 car. Tom Long did 2:07s in my car with me in it and talking most of the time. He thinks my car as it sits (2730lbs/325whp) is around a 2:04 car with slicks (I'm running nitto nt01s). I would think you're what 200-400lbs lighter and 70+ more whp right?

BC

PS - My ride with Tom showed me just how far I have to go before I do anything else to the car.... Best I could muster was a 2:13.... Biggest difference is when I get to full power vs. Tom. Yes I have no balls...

Love the orange and white E36. I had a black and orange E36 racecar, nowhere near that level of build though. The fact that it did 2:04 in the wet kinda proves it could run under 2:00 in the dry. Which is crazy fast. Is it's power to weight legal for GTS5? Could go whoop up on some cup cars.

Anyone heading back to the June 9-10 event? Might be too soon for me, but I definitely want to visit VIR again.

I think a bunch of us are going back to VIR August 27-28, it is a Monday-Tuesday, which may make it tough, but will also have less cars.
