Car Being Delayed at the Factory??

So I spoke to my CA today and he informed me that my PCD will not take place as originally scheduled on August 24 because the car is being delayed at the factory. I ordered it before the Sept. changes were announced. According to the 800 number, production started on July 4 and ended July 9. BMW Owners Circle still shows status as "in production" and the 800 number states "production finished, awaiting release to the carrier". The 800 number has said this for about 3 weeks now. Can this have anything to do with the Sept. changes? Has anyone else with a July build experienced anything similar?

Just found out from my CA that the car is stuck production status 155 (assembly finish/quality check). It has been in status 155 since July 9. Wondering if the car is being refitted with the new Sept. standard options?? What else would cause this? If any of you have July builds, please share your experiences. This is very frustrating. If the plant is shutting down at the end of the month, the car may not complete production until sometime in September...

My car started production July 26 and has an estimated completion date of 8/31. Obviously the August shutdown is effecting the timing here. I however, wasn't expecting the build to occur until Sept. as I specifically ordered it with the Sept. updates...so it's not a big deal to me.

If I were you, I'd ask your CA to do more investigating and figure out what the hell is going on. It shouldn't take QC 19 days to get a car through review...likely they identified an issue with the build. I can't imagine them building the car to pre-Sept. specs and then going back and redoing it with the Sept. updates.

My CA is off tomorrow (lucky me) but said he will do more investigating on Friday. Ironically, I think the Sept. changes were announced on July 9 which is the day my cars production was frozen. Maybe I am getting lumped into Sept production now? I will say this, if I have to wait until Sept/Oct to take delivery without the new standard features/options I will not be very happy.

So if there is an issue with the build, and the plant is closing, essentially I am screwed. Great.

Does it say "awaiting transport" on BMWUSA? Mine still says "in production". Thanks.
