BMW Fault Code

So my E93 M3 currently throws up an engine malfunction after about 1 minute of driving. This engine malfunction is the 4k RPM limit and practically 0 power.

I used a BT cable and got the codes:

27E4
Underpressure pump Mastervac plausibility
Error will cause a warning light
Error is currently present

2789 and 278A, which are catalytic converter conversion bank 1 and bank 2, respectively, but I think those are just for the increased emissions.

Also got the codes for the engine malfunction too.

I am wondering what exactly is this.

List of mods I have: AA Tune, AA Power Pulley, AA HFC, and AA Catback.

Thank you in advance for all the help

My bet is your Vacuum line with pressure sensor under the brake reservoir went bad. Are you hearing a constant buzz from the front left of the car? if so thats my guess.

Hey thanks for the reply but this was 1 year ago

Our first thought was the master cylinder connecter shorted because some brake fluid might have spilled (not leaked) during replacement. The dealer when through all the steps, even changing out all the parts in my car with another M3 and that didn't do anything. It was determined that the DME went bad so they took out the ECU, sent that to germany, and gave me a fresh one. Problem was solved.

Gotcha, sounds like the dealer got a bit more money from BMW for the ECU replacement.

I've never seen an MSS60 or MSS65 DME just "go bad". Bizarre.

They are incredibly reliable. Weird issues like this can happen if incorrect code was flashed or if a software update was incorrectly installed.

Glad you got it sorted.

Yea believe me it was surprised too. I think it just might have been a bad flash or software.

I had the same code & symptoms & it was the brake pressure sensor hose. I prepared myself for the ECU replacement until BMW told me otherwise.

Did it occur immediatly after a flash?

About a week after. The ECU was replaced under warranty

Your sig says Velos tune...

Do you have an AA tune or a Velos tune? (Or are they the same?)

If it's a week after a flash that's slighty coincidental to need a DME replacement..

Lol this was over a year ago. That time it was the AA tune. I only recently got the velos tune (about 3 months) and it works flawlessly.
