BMW AG knows what's going on, it's your local dealer who is not being upfront with you.

Agreed. When I placed my order on August 3rd, my CA gave me an existing build slot for an M3 that was going to be part of their normal inventory. On the day I ordered the car, he told me my build was slotted for week 37. Low and behold, my car is expected to be completed this coming Monday, Sept. 13...which just happens to be week 37. Your CA is not being upfront. He absolutely knows the production week for your car. He has more info than the customer service reps on the 800 #. Those reps don't really have much info until your car gets closer to its slotted build time. As earlier comments, your car is likely a week 40 or later build slot and your CA is just too afraid to tell you that.

So you are sure he allready knows my build week, all he keeps telling me is September build October it should be delivered. O man I hate to start all over but hate when people are not upfront or honest. Now I am getting pissed. What should I ask him,to email me my build sheet. Is there anything else I should ask him to email me, I want to catch him telling me bullshit.

Is there a way to go over dealers head besides going to his GM. Can BMW help me in any way. Any help to catch this dealer giving me run around would be great.

I found the production week from the ED department at BMWNA. I don't think you are doing a ED but whenever I call BMWNA and talk to them they tell me the production week. There's no production date but there is a production week.

Absolutely. As soon as they place an order in their system, there is a production number and build week assigned.

So I just called the 1800 number and was told that the car should be completed by September 18!

Don't recall your exact order but with the Convenience Pkg (get Nav as I recall) you will get the combox.

Electric seats are no longer standard, need to order as they are part of Premium Pkg 2 now....

I have a week 37 e92 M3 on order, and my dealer has confirmed it has the combo box and sept changes. He said the week 40 thing applied to the x series; different manufacturing plants are starting production with the combo box at different times - so South Carolina is week 40 I'm told.

kscarrol - I remember you from the e60.net days - I used to have a 2004 535d, username SG535d

Good to know. Seems like all signs point to the combox delay issues not affecting the M3 September updates. But I'm still plugging in my iphone to double check.

Hey Steve! Good to see another E60.net member making the switch to the M3!

I am Week 36 (pushed out from Week 35), built on 9/7. I am picking up my M3 this week (9/16) from Munich, so I'll know for sure by then. My latest VIR still shows "combox", so I am expecting to find it in my car when I pick it up.

Very good. Can't wait to finally hear some definitive information on the matter.

Just got the VIN today. Is there any way to tell from the VIN if there is a COMBOX? I know the VIN contains certain options placed on the car.

Agreed. Von, you will have the combox. At worst the rumored delay in getting the part was only a couple of weeks which have just about passed anyway. They swear my Sept 7th built car has it as well. The real test will be enigmia01 who's car was completed the same day as mine and is doing his ED pick-up on Thursday! Looking forward to his report...
