Solo DL mount without suction cup

LSR PCA just outlawed suction cups - every single kind. Who has options for mounting an AIM another way that requires no drilling.

While I can marginally understand the ban on suction cups which can't hold, it's a bit over the top as I've had several setups which hold exceptionally well including one three cup version you could pick up 50 lbs with.

Here's my no-suction-cup setup, works great. 2 tie-wraps through the air vents hold the base plate in place.

Thanks mid-corner. That was the kind of idea I was looking for. The tie raps don't interfere with the magnets getting the AIM flush against the base?

not at all, and I used regular-size tie-wraps. The only downside (if it even matters) is that it's easier to leave the base there for the whole track season instead of looping/cutting tie-wraps each time.

The screen is visible from both seats so I usually use predictive when driving alone and switch to a custom gear/rpm/temps display when I have a passenger.

Mine is mounted with magnet double sided tape to aluminum L that is riveted to air duct. You could do something similar and it would be invisible if you decided to sell the car.

Estoril - where did you get that bracket? Is that an E46? I have seen some brackets for E92's but oddly they very specifically say for aluminum finish trim or woodgrain finish trim only. I have the fake carbon fiber look trim.

I had already looked at pro fit. Nothing M3 specific.

That sucks!!...No pun intended.

In your case then suction cups should be legal as long as they are tethered? Maybe you can fashion a leash somewhere. Are you mounting it on left or in the center? The DL cable connection itself is already a quasi-leash.
