Headlight cleaner kit.....worth it?

I was just wondering if it's worth getting a headlight cleaner kit, such as Diamondite(ex: about $40 at autogeek) or can I use something I already have to polish the headlights? I have lots of polishes and pads, and a drill and orbital. This is for my wife's 2007 Acura MDX. Her lights are pretty cloudy. Just wondering if I can try something else, rather than spring for a kit that i'll probably only use once

Yes they work pretty well. My everyday E39 headlights were in bad shape, purchased the 3M kit and it cleaned it up very well

To me they are nothing but a waste of money.... If you already have detailing materials here is what i do.

-Wet sand headlights with 2500 grit sandpaper
-Wash / Dry / Mask
-2 passes with Manzerna SIP (orange pad)
-2 passes with Manzerna Final polish (green Pad)
-LSP of your choice

You will have brand new looking headlights.

I've had excellent results with the 3M kit
My wife's former Volvo xc90 had yellowed headlights
Used the kit, and the headlights looked brand new, for over 2 years , till we sold it
I think it's $23 at advanced auto parts or autozone
