CEL + increased emissions

Hi guys,

Tonight I got a CEL+ Increased emissions. The car jerked when it pulled the code but then was driving normally. I have noticed that maybe 1-2 times a week the car randomly jerks at partial throttle or when cruising. The car idles fine. I took it to Autozone and they pulled a:

P0091: Fuel Pressure Regular 1 Control Circuit Low

After it was cleared it didn't come back on the 10 minute drive home… Doing a quick search I think I have the cause….

Is this the part that needs replacement?

thanks

You, like me, have an 08. When the battery starts to go, random errors pop up. So yes, that is the sensor that you replace when that code pops up, but be aware, battery problems manifest themselves in errors, as well. Jerking is something I didn't have.

Thanks for the battery tip whats77inaname, the reassuring thing about my battery is that its only 11 months old. I have an extended warranty so I will take it to my indy tomorrow to get that FPR sensor replaced.. hopefully thats all that needs replacement

Well I called MAG and they said since the light went away to bring it in when it reappeared. It hasn't thus far. I may replace that one part prophylactically as its only 90 bucks and its easy. I am not driving the car much though as it isn't my daily driver anymore… I will get around to it when it gets warmer lol.

or are you suggesting I need to replace my O2 sensors?

My car has no symptoms other than the service engine soon and increased emissions on the iDrive.BTW i have 55K miles.

Thanks for your help!
