Alcon claims the assembly is lighter than stock.
at 384x34mm front disc and 370x30mm rear disk specs, these are monsters

Looks like they will clear stock 220 style rims. Good luch with 18s

So how does open hat and closed hat design compare to wear/tear for the street. I mean with all the salt, dirt and water in theory, closed hat design should be better for longevity no?

Yup. When I had my Alcons, I ran both a set of 18" Volk TE37SL and 18" Advan TCIII. The TCIII had a bit more clearance.

Congrats on the Alcon kit. I loved them, and combined with the Pagid RS29, you'll never run out of brakes.

It's shame, I didn't order RS29 pads with this kit. I will order next time.
I couldn't believe that I can get this kit much under $7k shipped to me, so I took it, as it is. I consider to order second kit, and keep as replacement.

I don't think they clear the 219Ms, as I remember researching this sometime ago, but I didn't get a template to test fit myself to confirm. Litchfieldimports.co.uk are probably the best people to speak to as they have been using Alcons for all their type 20s/25s and GT-Rs. They also have the kit for our cars. They work very closely with Alcon R&D as well.

Ah nice one will check out the link .. Quite sure the Alcon kit has no hope of clearing oem 18s. Still stuck with the issue of spacer + aps OR 260Ms + aps (no spacers) OR after market 18s + Any BBK ....

Superkit caliper doesn't clear any of OEM 18" wheels I afraid. I e-mailed JDL-brakes, and they said, only 19" OEM wheels, and maybe some aftermarket 18"

Yes. Even my winters are 19's. There is a thread about which 18's clear the Bembo 380 kit and those wheels, thus far, clear the alcons as well. Good luck and these brakes rock

I couldn't resist and I ordered Pagid RS29 pads to my Alcon Superkit. To be honest so far, I see no difference between yellow Pagids, and standard pads from Superkit ( RS9-2 right ??? ) Maybe I will see difference on track, but so far, I think standard pads worked even better when were cold.

The RS29 are enduro pads, and meant to deal with sustained heat. What you'll find is that at the track, the RS29 will remain unbelievably consistent, even under high heat loads, whereas the RS9-2 will taper off in performance relatively quickly.

You are right. They perform very well on track, but I think after couple of week of use, also much better on street.
