What can I say, it was the kid in me and the prank had to be made I admittedly so ever slightly told her that the car drives normal with the M mode turned off. I have to say though I almost cried when she was driving. Couple times she forgot to shift and red lined the car and her shifting reminded me of when I was learning to drive a manual. Rest assured we both agreed that it was the first and last time she will ask to drive.

However, I must agree with most of the other members that 1. It's a really bad car to learn to drive on and 2. You are probably scaring the crap out of her!

let me guess, you've never tried it, or don't have the guts to.
It would help if you actually understood what "reverse psychology" meant, since what you are suggesting is not reverse psychology.

Can't believe people get all bent out of shape from simple comments in a semi-humorous thread like this.

Actually, you have no idea where I work. Let's just leave it like that.

Ooooh, scary smug vagueness.

Whether you work at McDonalds or the Mass General, doesn't make what you posted any more right.

... and for Jeebus' sake, lighten up. We're just having a bit of fun in a car forum ...

Not the car I would use to teach a new driver.
I would also avoid a large truck or suv.
