M3 Sidemarker

As i was drooling over the pictures of this glorious new m3 i couldn't help but notice that it's pretty much perfect (in my opinion). At least the European model is. Can we expect have an ugly orange sidemarker reflector on the North American M3 like on the 335i?

I don't know about you guys but when I look at a close up of the side vents I see a side marker lamp built into the silver strake bisecting the vent (see photo). I don't think that there will be one on the fender.

it is my understanding that in most states, an amber reflector has to be in the front quarters of the car -- gotta expect something similar to the 335 marker, even with the side vent led lamp.

The E46 had this too, but they still had the orange reflector on the front bumper. Actually all cars do even if they have sidemarkers.

That is not a side marker lamp; it's the side turn signal indicator.

If turn signal not activated, it does not light up.
vs
The one on the bumper is a reflector.

Still can swap out the lense. I have done so on my front and rear sidemarkers for 2.5 years and have never been pulled over for an infraction.

Do you know who makes a clear lense for the 3 series coupe sidemarker/reflector? I think I'm going to have to order some!

It will have the orange reflector on the bumper. Period. Options will be as they were for the E46: install painted reflectors, install clear/tinted/etc reflectors, or replace the bumper with the euro one.
