you can only get the correct size Pilot Sport Cups on 19s (245/35/19 front, 265/35/19 rear). There are no tires (from Cups) that fit correctly on 18s. Track tires have very limited sizes.

I will consider the BFG g-sport R1 tires - they are fairly new and did very well in tests at Grassroots motorsports mag. got low consistant times.

19" OEM for road

and for the track
think about the track conditions and lay out. If you need much grip because of many corners or high temperatures than go with 18".
If you want to go for high speed strigt line test than 19" :-)

there is no g-sport, so I take it you mean g-force R1? If yes, then how will those wear out slower than cups if they have like 1/2 the tread? And they cost more too!

To be fair, they probably do handle better.

yes g-force. I think they cost less in 18 inch at tire rackthan the cups. Cups wear out fast IMO. GRM claimed decent wear on the BFG. I suspect the BFG will wear better. the old BFG R1 they sold back in the 1990's was one of the best track/autocross tire at the time with very good wear patterns.

Difference is, if you plan on using this on the road...this is pretty much like a slick and will hydroplane really badly.

Also, it has VERY little tread...so I would expect faster wear than the cups no?

i dont think either one is intended for rain. althought I have been in the rain in both the PSC and the Old RA1's. both were fine. niether one has much tread depth either.
