Supercharge it, you will not regret it. The new F8x does not come close to giving the same thrill that the e9x does. Especially supercharged. We truly have a very special car.

Thanks man yea I know I love the E9x platform so much better just needs a little boost imo and it would be perfect.. Im just worried about the motor I feel like it's a hit or miss with these motors.. I'm just gonna chance it I think, I barely drive the car it's my weekend car. I put about 5k miles a year if that so I really should be worried.. I love your car and build bro I'm subscribed to your post.. I really wanna go the route you went but unfortunately I can't right now otherwise I would.. I love what gintani is doing man good lock with your build hope it all goes well so you can shit these haters up already

That being said I also just spun my bearings, even after swapping them out for new. So now engine is being fully rebuilt/stroked.
I'm about to do the rod bearing service, now I read this. New bearings and still destroyed your engine? Do you have a seperate thread on what happened with detailed info? Who replaced your bearings, was it a faulty installation?

Thanks.

Not faulty install that I know of, they lasted I think 27k before spinning all of which was under boost. My oem set at 32k non boosted were to the copper though.
Install was done at velos designwerkes in Miami, vendor here on forums I purchased SC through. Im waiting on detailed pics from VAC of the damage but bearings spun and crank was damaged.

Wonder if you are the first to spin new upgraded bearings. Which bolts?

Had ARP rod bolts, though can't remeber if I went with the 2000 or 625. Went with what was recomended at the time "little over 2yrs ago. Might be able to dig up a receipt if anyone is curious.

I think im the 2nd to spin a new set of bearings, other guy was running one of the coated ones from what I remeber.

Well when I pulled the OEM bearings and bolts at 32,000 miles when supercharger was installed the bearings were showing copper on several so it was already a engine that had some of the tighter clearances.
I think with the addition of the SC and the more agressive driving paired with one of the tighter clearance engines.. it just ate through them much much faster, from copper showing at 32k to bearings spinning at 27k.

This is just my line of thought, but when you go to install a supercharger and swap bearings. If you are showing already that you have pretty bad bearing wear I would either not install the blower or try to address the root issue with milling crank/greater clearance bearings etc.
Otherwise may end up where im at, now if bearings look ok then you will prob be fine with new set of bearings and blower. SC will increase the wear rate of your engine no getting around that, so if you have a flaw especially a part with a wear issue it will show up that much faster.
