Take a Ride in my 725 HP Turbo S at Auto Club Speedway

Really fun day yesterday (Friday Sept 12, 2014) at Auto Club Speedway. BMW CCA provides some terrific classroom and in-car instruction, which I really needed as it was my first time at this track. I signed up with my M3 but it needed new brakes so I brought my 911 instead - and it's the first time I've tracked with this car. I learned a lot and look forward to going back.

This vid is from the last session of the day. Combined A and B Group run. I got a relatively clear lap at 14:15 and was able to drive without worrying about traffic.

Enjoy.

@Longboarder good meeting you there!

car is awesome and I'll have a couple vids from one of our instruction sessions with me behind you (you can see how fast it pulls away on the straights)

and that's me on the flyby when your video starts! behind the 1m coupe pushing him (an A student)

good to see Triple M there too with his nicely done fire orange.

Awesome. Looks like a good track to enjoy that hp. What were your speeds on the straights and banking?

Nice hanging out with you as well. You were quick out there! No doubt the fastest BMW of our group. You are definitely no "Slow Saloon"

Would be funny if you got the vid of me sliding through turn 3. That's what I get for trying to go fast around the bank and not changing my braking point lol.

Thanks yeah what a nice track.

Using the digital readout on my speedo (which is actually very accurate) most of the time I was hitting about 160mph at the start/finish line and then I would coast through the "funnel" and tap the break to go through the bank at about 120-125mph unless I was held up.

But in an earlier session (session 3) I kept my foot in it past the start/finish and hit 170mph just before the funnel...then took the bank at about 140mph. It was rather frightening actually...but the car held nicely. This was the time I passed pkim just before the start/finish so maybe he has it on vid.

heres my instructor session behind @Longboarder. I just made my video for the last session with my usual stupid ass troll comments and will post that in a different thread.

go to 7:10 and 9:15 mark to see what 320 more horsepowers does to you.

Nice vid you drove really well! I wanna see your solo session 4 haha.

5:45 of your vid is where I came into turn 3 too hot and the rear end rotated on me and I almost came to a stop. Screwed me in the head and as you vid shows I missed a bunch of apexes after that.

i'll post in track section and photo/vid section. I'm prob going to get hammered for being a douche. My last session is WAY better than my instructor session. When I have someone in my car, I care about them too much and drive like I'm in the city. Slow.
