1 day in Chicago = 3 Tickets
For those of you that live in IL you already know that the city of Chicago has some pretty stupid fucking laws and regulations. That's why I live in the suburbs
So I took my dogs today to the public dog beach and as soon as I came back to the car I had 3 tickets waiting for me. 1st NO OR IMPROPERLY DISPLAYED CITY STICKER 9-64-125 $120 2nd MISSING FRONT PLATE 9-76-160 $50 3rd TINTED WINDOWS 9-76-220 $250 If any one has any experience on fighting these tickets or advice your help would be much appreciate it !

Thats why this is sooo retarted. I dont live in the city and actually here in the suburbs you dont need any stickers unless your town requires it. I just dont see how they can ticket me in the city for PARKING IN A PUBLIC park where NO SIGNS say anything about permits or stickers.

They can ticket you for whatever they want, it's up to you to go to court and get it overturned.

But no front plate and tints would be pretty hard to fight, even if you bring them all the pictures. |

god... id be pissed if i were you. In trinidad, we dont bother with parking tickets. If the infraction is minor, they let it slide. If not, they just tow the car. Its a great system and it really works!

Yeah, it's a bitch. I need a sticker to park in the city, a sticker to park in my lot at home, and a sticker to park at my work. WTF is the world coming to.

You might be able to fight this one. However, if you parked in a zone that requires a sticker, and you didn't have one, then you're probably SOL unless you can make the argument that the warning signs weren't visible, or were obstructed.
Put your plate on. It's IL state law that you need to have both front and rear plates. If you don't want to get tickets, put your front plate on. Take the tints off of your front windows. It's IL state law that no tint is allowed on the front driver and passenger side windows. If you you don't want to get tickets, take your tints off. Don't disregard the law? |

Ohio has this law as well. Although I've been front plateless for nearly 6 years now and been hassle free. The cops around here don't typically ticket for it unless they pull you over for other reasons or use it as a reason to pull over a snoop on you. Neither of which have happened to me. Quote:
Ohio allows for 50% on front windowns and no restrictions on the rest. I personally have 20% all around and have had so on my last 3 cars. Not hassled once, even when pulled over. I roll down all windows and if it's night I turn on all interior lights as well. Ticketing a parked car is purely to generate revenue. No other reason. It's also a dick lazy ass move on the cops part. I'm sure in Chicago there was something more important to be doing at the same moment.

By my count, 19 states have one-plate requirements, one state (MA) you can have either one or two, and the rest (30 states) have two-plate requirements.
