Fuel Reserve Warning

This warning is a pain and starts coming up when the petrol level gets to 1/4 left.... which is over 100kms which is hardly the point.

Is there any way to make this go away???
Or better still reduce the warning to something more reasonable........

All of the non-m E9x are set to 1/8th. Can be coded to 1/8th as stated above.

I decided against it because in my real world application i'm at ~50mi at quarter tank. Gives me enough notice to not run directly to a gas tank. ~25-30 miles seemed too low once I thought about it. Just giving my 2 cents =)

Remember the issue if you change to a shorter warning is that you may be far from a refill. I would rather be reminded than get afflicted by range anxiety but thats just me :-)

I rarely let the petrol get that low anyway believing that it's better to have more than less...

Nah - it keeps pinging the bell all the time which is annoying and take up the top line of the display. My car doesnt really leave the CBD so there is always a petrol station around.....

In saying that, I have been on 0 kms three times.........

The internet is your friend.... :-) you can buy the app through the App Store and then you need to buy an OBDII wifi dongle through their website. I can show you mine at work over the weekend if you around and want to try before you buy...

I didn't think about it, but I know on other cars in the past, it was suggested to keep enough fuel in the tank for cooling the pump. This was along time ago (and I believe saab), but not sure if it was the same on the m's.

That being said 1/4 tank is dangerzone on miles for me, but plenty of liquid volume.

I've gotten down to ~25mi to empty twice at lowest. My E92 328xi hit <5 miles probably a half dozen times over the last decade (2007)

I changed mine via the Carly app. It's a nice improvement. I would recommend Carly to anyone. Carly is worth it just get rid of the legal disclaimer on engine start as well as having the car remember the last setting of the engine start stop button. You do however have to factor in a $A80 annual subscription.

alternative is to do it free with BMW coding tools, done all above plus others (e.g. changing non-zcp EDC profile to zcp EDC profile) for free.
