08 E92 M3 Owners! V1 Radar Fusebox Install

I created this thread because my questions were not answered fully in the other threads regarding the Fusebox install of the V1 radar.

What fuse slot did everyone use to connect there direct power adapter? Some said to use #7 or #8. 7 is the homelink and PDC and 8 is for the cig lighter and other accessories. I think i can use 7. 8 however is 20 amps according to the fuse box diagram.

If any e92 m3 owners have done this install please reply. i am alittle nervous to take off and fiddle with the A-pillar cover. what's the best, easiest, and most efficient way to do this installation. Again this when connecting the V1's direct power adapter to tge fuse box behind the glove compartment.

If you're going to use a fuse, I would use 8. Because it runs to the cig lighter, and another option is actually plugging the V1 into the cig lighter, I would imagine it would be fine to tap that one. I can't remember if the V1 has an in-line fuse or not, but 20A is WAY above the current it pulls so it definitely needs one.

there is an inline fuse. i believe it's only 1 amps or 2 amps though. I recall someone saying to use slot #8 if you had an E92 3-series, but they said it was 5 amps. My #8 slot is 20 amps. Did you you do the fuse box method?

it wasn't too difficult. I did solder the mini fuse to the direct power adapter though then ran the wire along the headliner and the A-pillar and underneath the glove.
